I'd be fine with it.

Why?

There's many players that need to find the exit door long before Lamela does.

Not to mention that the manager that we're being told we should back, absolutely loves himself a bit of Coco.

Back the manager, back his choices.

But as I've just said in the front page section.
This whole thread will now serve as nothing but a knife sharpening exercise for those who simply don't like the lad.

I am all the way down in Penzance, Cornwall. And can still hear their piss boiling because he's been one of our best performers since finding fitness.

Similar to Aurier and Lloris that he is entering the final year of his contract.

Will be interesting to see if the club cash in on any of them or extend their contracts.

None are at the top of the list of players I would want to sell but none are at the top of my list of players I'd want to keep.

Think we could be in for a very busy summer.

Depends on him. If he wants to go, try to get some money. 10-15 m?

If he wants to stay and is happy to be mainly a sub, extend the contract by 2 years. His attitude and commitment is very very useful for the squad. We won't find a much better alternative from the bench who is fine with that role.

The issue we face and alli gold also alluded to is we need to sell a big name player or players.

I don't want him to go but I'd rather sell him then the bigger players. We don't have many players that can generate transfer fees that we would be OK losing

Lamela, Aurier, Dele, Winks, Sissoko are the ones

Lamela does need to leave, he's been here for 8 years - if there's offers we should seriously think about it. There's too many players who represent the old guard and have become accustomed to life at Spurs, we just need fresh faces now and rid of the ones that have been here for ages.

But the problem is that he’s in the last year of contract and with his injury record, I don’t think we are going to get any big fees for him that’s going to make a difference to our transfer kitty.

That’s a bit harsh to put him in the same group as winks and co, yes he’s been injured a lot over the years but he’s always given everything for the team when ever he’s on the field. Really don’t want to see him leave unless we are replacing him with Neto.

I didn't put him with Winks you did :D

I just think he represents the old guard, he was here in the entirety of Poch's reign, 8 years is a long time and like you said he's always injured.

By no means first one out the door but if we get an offer we should sale.

Sale? Like 20% off or something? ;)

I tend to agree but anyway the price would be a stumbling block.

In a 25 man squad there is room for a Lamela... issue being that whatever way you skin it, he’s had fitness issues, doesn’t contribute what an attacker should in terms of output, and takes up an HG space.

Given that Lucas seems to be able to replicate Lamela off the ball (the good, not the bad) but with more output on it, I think that if an offer comes in we should take it (assuming it’s reasonable).

He’s one of a few that we’ve seen his ceiling and it’s not where it needs to be if we are to progress, in my opinion.

I don't think any spurs fan dislikes him. I can understand why some want him moved on.

Just because there are other players that are worse doesn't mean he still shouldn't go.

I don't think we should back this manager and I don't support all of his ideas.

I find what he brings to the table vastly overrated, at the end of the day he's an attacking midfielder who offers very little offensively. The goal against Arsenal was his first g/a in the prem all season and first goal since September 4, 2019 the walloping of Palace under Poch. In 36 appearances between those 2 games he only had 1 assist.

He's been here for 8 seasons, he's insanely injury prone and his best traits are his defensive game. Not worth it to me at this point.

The recent form has been great and I have really enjoyed it but it is difficult to forget about the previous few years. But he would need replacing and at a time when there are not too many funds about I would suggest he may not be the priority to sell.

If that's your reasoning, then let's move Kane and Son as well, right?
