Since it's pronounced La-MAY-la, can we get some Derek and the Dominos action going?

"La-may-la....got me on my knees..."

Everybody wants signings all the time. At the end of the window, if we sell Bale we won't be surprised put it that way, but Soldado, Paulinho, Chadli and Capoue (so far) would have softened this and people will still go to games as before.

You were talking as if there'd be a revolt and the club would struggle to keep fans on board. Clubs will always make decisions fans won't be happy about but do you really think Levy would actually be bothered because Spurs fans might be temporarily pissed off? No chance. He's done it before and he'd do it again. The guy is a duck and the dirty water glides off his back. Nothing phases him... Nothing.

Agree nothing phases him, but I wasn't talking as if there would be a revolt. I merely meant that there would be a lot of pissed off fans, I never said that would equate to people protesting, you've just jumped to that interpretation. I'm clarifying now to remove any ambiguity on that, so lets not go round in circles.

Not necessarily Lamela-related (though I'm hoping it is), but sounds like the Telegraph might be worth reading tomorrow. AVB's mate Jason Burt just said on Twitter

"They (Spurs) are going for it... a lot of good names in the frame. Can't say more."

When asked why he can't reveal any more he said:

"Not on Twitter. Buy the paper..."

He also implied that Joe Lewis is the catalyst behind this summer's spend-up.

Going for it hopefully implies we will stand firm on Bale, unless Madrid meet our exact terms, and we are building around Bale with real quality - which we're already a long way to doing with the signings we've brought in.

Burt and AVB have a special relationship. However Burt did say previously that Lamela was unlikely earlier in the window.

We are the mighty Spurs
And he plays for us
He is feared where ever we go
Ball at feet, it's sheer delight
See other teams with their ripped backsides
We're beating everyone in sight
Singing la la la la la.. lala me la, la la la la.. lala me la

Repeat - Iggy Pop - The Passenger

Sorry I will leave now.

Maybe, but look at the opening post of this thread...

Burt was the first to mention Lamela as a target exactly 2 months ago today, at that time he suggested that a big bid for Lamela would be unlikely IF we bought David Villa, but said he was a perfect fit for the type of football AVB wants us to play.
