.... yep Eriksen needs to step up, but he has significant credit in the bank based on previous performances. Lamela has nothing but constant underachievement and failing to deliver on what he was bought for.

Wow, this post got absolutely savaged :D

Apologies to @UpTownSpur - I thought your post the other day was very reasonable, please ignore your inclusion in this art.

He still isn't the player for us that he ever was for Roma.

I think disappointment will continue to be seen from lots of fans until we do see that sort of consistent end product from him.

Still...he's pretty good.

I dont think we are going to see the Roma player, I think we would have seen that consistent end product by now. He is not s*** but nowhere near the player I thought we were getting. He is way overrated by some on here.

Lamela is the only player in this team at the moment who both makes runs, takes shots, and plays creative passes. it might not work all that often but at least he's trying these things.

Spot on. We've been very sterile lately, and I find myself just dreaming of someone making an off the ball run into a dangerous area, and for Eriksen or someone to just blast the ball into said area to see what happens. I think we're doing things to neatly at times.

Just winds me up. Gives the ball away too much and i watch him through my fingers every game waiting for him to get a needless red card.
If he wasn't South American we wouldn't be being this patience.
Want him to shine but he never will unfortunately

He's never got a red card for us. And no one's being patient anymore, because he already contributes plenty to our play.

Did I see a different game to his detractors? He was on 30mins, won a penalty, gave us impetus, nearly won a second penalty and put Harrison clean through.

It's almost as if you made this post 2 years ago and forgot to click post reply until now.

Have you considered that he may be a better player all-round compared to his Roma days, but he just scores less?

What? Why would we need to be patient with him - he's already come good? He had an excellent season last season and contributed on all fronts. He's already shone. He doesn't give the ball away too much, and he's never had a red card.

You're not watching the player, you're watching your preconceptions of the player, preconceptions which are a good 18 months out of date.

Just weird dude.
