But seriously, where is the money coming from? I mean a certain amount is self-generated but those lot will command some hefty fees. Fuck it! SPEND SPEND SPEND!

If all of these were to happen, then Bale is likely off. But, a couple of them and I'd say Bale could still be staying.

If tonight's news is all true, Willian, Lamela, Erikson and Coentrao.. Epicness.

Then go to Bale and ask "are you *really* sure you want to leave now?"

Jesus. We could be doing a lineup of

Soldado
Lamela Eriksen Bale
Paulinho Sandro
Coentrao Kaboul Vertonghen Walker
Lloris

Bench of Sigurdsson, Holtby, Defoe, Adebayor, Dawson, Capoue, Dembele

I think if we get Willian and Eriksen and keep Bale, Lennon is off.

Ahh, why am I even wasting time about keeping Bale at this point. Argh.

Man, smell the coffee. There's no way we're negotiating upwards of 75m of transfers atm (Willian, Lamela, Halliovic, Coentrao) without Bale being already out the door. No way in hell.

Okay now imagine this. We keep Bale and buy all the players mentioned above. My hands would be worn down to the bone. ;)

Can really only see that kind of outlay on top of what we've already spent if Bale is headed to Madrid. Honestly, for the injection of quality and squad depth that it would provide it might actually make us stronger overall. I just hope it's sorted soon.

€32m for Willian
€35m for Lamela (bonuses are 5)
€12m for Eriksen
-------------
€79m for all three if all the press is to be believed

That is a lot, but it far-more-than compensates for the loss of Bale, with room to buy Coentrao as well.

Creativity, goals and depth all covered as well. Lamela, Eriksen and Willian could be every bit as good (if not better when they develop) than Chelsea's first-choice 3 behind the striker.

We all know he will be off. The question is whether we're spending the money now before he goes next year, or spending it now and waiting for these to be completed before announcing Bale is off.

WTF is going on tonight!? All recent ITK has pointed to Lamela, and we know Baldini is a huge fan and he would be a fantastic replacement for Bale when he goes, then all of a suddenly we are in for Willian who is coming in to London tomorrow and maybe even Eriksen... This makes no sense. Coentrao I think will def come as we will prob just use the rest of the money RM owe us for Modric on him, the Hallilovic deal will prob be very small amounts spread over a long time as he is not coming for a year.... But that still leaves Willian, Lamela and Eriksen. Two things come to mind, ether A) we are so desperate for more creativity we are just throwing money at players we like in hope we get one, much like our attempt to get Aguero and Rossi many a moon ago... Or B) we are selling Bale.... At least they are all very exciting players. I am hoping for Lamela most I think.

I would expect that you are correct, but I think we should all remember that this is probably the last window we can spend big if we want too, so maybe it will be fantasy land. Also BAE, Parker, Ade/Defoe and maybe both Siggy and Townsend, will bring in a lot of cash.

I think my point isn't that I am a massive optimist, more that this window has been so crazy, who knows what will happen.

I didn't see a shot of Bale at Palace, and I know there would have been one if he is there. I think he is off. But, rather than it be the end of times, we look to be splashing the cash. We must hit the nail on the head with these targets. We can not mess around with these. This could make or break these next few seasons. We need to get these guys, as I feel they are the right targets, to pull a Dortmund re-build and not an Arsenal loss.

Just as a point, injured players never travel with the squad to away games.

The post was like millions of thoughts swirling in your head- so hard to understand- I am so excited and confused- I couldn't give a shit if Bale leaves if we genuinely sign all this players.

I've been reading the rumours in regard to a contract renewal today, would be a real shame if true he looks like a quality youngster and you'd have to wager this is our season to sign him, his trajectory suggests that we won't be able to afford him in a couple of seasons time.

Unfortunately, we may not even be able to afford him next year. Much less in a couple of years time.

If we can't get Lamela, it'll be interesting to see if our stance regarding Bale may change. Thinking of some possible replacements (Hulk, Di Maria, Ben Arfa, Yarmolenko, etc.) and I'm not really sure any of them make enough sense to be okay with the replacement. Hulk is going to be overpriced, Di Maria won't come here, Ben Arfa make glass look sturdy and Yarmolenko, while very talented, is going to need time to adjust.

Snarf, what other (similar) players do you have in mind, if Lamela isn't happening? I mean aside from the aforementioned list.

To be honest, finding left-footed wide forwards that can score is going to be really hard right now. Lamela's the best fit, but a guy like Rodrigo from Benfica could do similar. He's a fantastic young talent that is a striker but has played out wide. We could play him out wide in the meantime as he continues to learn the EPL game and possibly become our Soldado replacement. He reminds me of Gonzalo Higuain as a striker.

Halilovic is left footed too iirc, and looks promising. I would never want him instead of Lamela but i wouldnt mind us grabbing both if Bale goes. And Willian ofc. At least one can dream. ;)
