I hope this is announced by Weds latest.

Seperately, we should make a bid for Yannick Bolasie at Palace...would be excellent as that young 3rd striker option ; fast, powerful, scores goals, some flair and seems a good lad from soccer am interview! Sandro would love his rapping haha

I wouldn't attribute the same problems this season - if they are - to the same causes.

Last year we had a poor balance in midfield and up front, exasperated by injuries.

This year we have players with excellent movement (Soldado, Paulinho), and more creativity in non playmaker positions (Chadli more so than Dempsey, Capoue / Paulinho more so than Parker etc).

If you'd have to see we're loosing some goal threat in Bale for Lamela (though Bale will score less on the right for RM, where Lamela was 1 in 2 in Serie A), you'd have to say we're also gaining Lamela's superior creativity to Bale.

We really need the players to settle, as well as 1 or 2 attacking signings for the first XI this week.

In the meantime we need as many clean sheets as possible, and take heart from this team's willingness to grind out results.

I'm hugely optimistic about this season, and I can only see the attacking football getting better from here on in.

Total agreement and really can't wait to have everything come together for us, this team is going to be great IMO. I also want to say how much I like AVB's substitutions so far. He has changed the pace of the game before something bad happens, which is something Harry and even Jol would let happen, then make a sub to try and add something after we had given up the tying goal or let them slip ahead even though the entire ground could feel bad things about to happen and the run of play had already swung the oppostition's way.

I also wouldn't mind trying to find a way to play a 4-4-2 with Soldado and Defoe up top to start a game and see if we can't play a midfield of Chadli/Paulinho/Capoue/Dembele and hope someone can fit into the right winger role out of that bunch.

I also want to see Dembele really up his game as he seems stuck in first gear or something, he isn't playing terrible but just not great either. He might be stuck on the bench if he can't get his game together really quickly because I can't see AVB not using Capoue and Paulinho together in the middle with Sandro filling in the rotation to get back to 100% as well. If you pencil in Chadli at left winger (and I think we should as he tracks back and plays defense and really has more pace than some teams will be able to handle) that leaves either the second striker position open or the right winger and if Dembele doesn't fit into those two roles I feel he is just going to end up a great sub to have off the bench.

It's almost as though his agent is making stuff public just to see if he can get his client a "better offer" - (wanker)

hi all just wondered if spurs manage to sign lamela and chiriche by tommorow are they able to play on thursday as it would be ideal for both to play in a game with less pressure ?

Maybe too soon for Thursday, or at least too soon to start. If Lamela is signed tomorrow, then perhaps bench on Thursday with 45 minutes and maybe start on Sunday.

Neither would be eligible to play as you would have to be signed before the first leg.

Not really a wanker, to be fair................it's just his job to get the best possible deal for his client (yes, and for himself).

No different, really, to Levy trying to get the best possible deal when signing or selling players.

What I don't understand, if they expect deal to be done, why isn't he already travelling in preparation? Seems odd to me.

Because this is likely all agent stuff going on now. I'm sure Lamela is getting all of his ducks in a row before he takes off to his new life.

Here is a map of our passing vs Swans. You can really see where Lamela could help us.
