JJ did say we'd announce Lamela after Bale is officially sold.

Lamela is done. Roma have declared it. Levy just wants to follow the Bale sale with some positive news, which is understandable.
Yes. I hope that means Bale is sold this afternoon then. Me wantey a smile and wave from Lamela at the game.

I think Lamela and Chirches deals are likely to be announced before the match tonight if their medicals are complete.

We could save them until Bale departs to help us get over loss or we could announce them ASAP and make the fans not give two hoots that Bale has f**ked off. (Also it is hard to use them as good news when Roma have already announced the Lamela deal and Romania are having a hootenanny over Chirches joining)

I'm not usually one to believe a triple announcement but I have to say I would not be surprised if we announce 3 signings and then the sale of Bale. It would really help cushion the blow.

Yeah i've never believed we'd do that kind of thing but with 3 close to signing on the same day I can see it.

Everyone knows that Bale is off and the majority have thought this for a while. Why wait to announce these guys?

AVB is still saying "if" over Bale so I'm really not sure that there is any real (do you like what I did there) link between Lamela's announcement and Bale's departure. Levy will string this out until he is happy that Real have a) suffered enough for dissing us b) actually have the money!

If the deal was that close do you really think that Real would be dismantling stages?

It's probably more to do with the publicity angle. I think most fans know Bale's departure is inevitable now, so personally I'd prefer to see us just announce them ASAP.

At this point don't think it matters as everyone has come to grips with Bale leaving, he is acting like a twat, and we are reinvesting the money in some class players at good value. Most Spurs fans won't blink an eye when Bale leaves. No need to hold off on any announcements to soften a blow. I say announce them when it's done and lets move forward.

Lamela is done. Barring anything nasty coming up in the medical, it'll be rubber-stamped. Relax about this one guys.
I am relaxed, but it's also frustrating that chelsea get linked with a player say on a monday morning and weds pm he's on their website holding up a shirt, E'to in this latest instance. I wish we'd get a move on. Perhaps I am frustrated.

The only thing that matters is getting in the players right now. Chelsea can add one or two pieces. Pick and choose and concentrate fully on that particular deal.

I'm saying it right now. My mahoosive cock on the block here. We're looking to build, and if we manage 2 or 3 more singings in the right areas, an entire squad near or on the same level as Chelsea, yanited etc. In one summer. We're very fucking close to it.

The one area we really need to sign someone else in right now to not leave ourselves short is striker. If Ade had his head in the game then we'd already be there but that ship looks to have long ago sailed.

We simply don't have time to put our hands round their waists and say cheese. We're building an entire club's next decade here.

And yes, I've had a lot of pop today.

So long as he's signed and sealed before midday tomorrow.
Don't think they'd hold up any announcement cause of Bale after what AVB said yesterday.

Hopefully tonight at the Lane(y)

Think it's just standard etiquette considering the transfer hasn't been announced yet. I'm sure the Bale deal is 99% agreed.

Do we ever do that of recent years though? Now with Twitter that seems to be the first place.

Would be sweet though.

Off the top of my head the only times I can remember signings being paraded before a game were Defoe (second spell) and Keane (first spell)

Please stick all his posts on here! Quite keen to find out what's hilarious about it :)

I know Nick, he was saying that the Romanian lot had travelled to the UK for an interview with Chiriches and couldn't get a hold of him and they had all managed to miss Lamela and Chiriches and looked like idiots hanging around.
