how did he score 15 goals in Serie A jesus!!

i wanted him to make it as he is very likable and seems like a good lad but its just not gonna happen is it
I really don't think he will make it with us no - and I suspect we will keep him this season and his performance will be more off the same leading his stock to fall again and his value drop

Could easily end up the next Bentley - no place for him in our team and unable to sell, just a loan to Italy or something to get his wage off the books

Yes
So did River Plate,Barcelona, Roma and Argentina.
You don't really expect me to suddenly say no because you think so.
I will take the opinion of all the coaches and professional people who have worked with him over yours no disrespect intended.
Plus the fact he has shown his ability in a Spurs shirt but not often enough imho.
But like our manager I won't judge on a couple of games this season.

I have answered your question in respectful way.
Could you answer mine now.

Well my comment re the pass was merely a quip that you've taken far too literally. I'm afraid I don't have any possession stats for you.

How come all these teams think Lamela is good yet no one appears to be making any attempts to sign him?
No matter how you dress up your obvious man crush he's an enormous flop

I know it's rude, but he's really not up to scratch. I'm mystified how he was do highly coveted at Roma.

He really really needs to be dropped, permanently.

Maybe because they've been told he's not for sale?
Like ITK have indicated.
You can do better than that surely

Not for sale? You seriously think that if someone came in with something halfway decent we'd keep him?

You're clearly just arguing the point for the sake of it as he's not improved since day one, he's toilet.

Maybe you were gutted we let Soldado go to? Maybe you consider Paulinho world class? Maybe you've forgotten your medication?
Maybe (and most likely) you actually are Erik Lamelas mum

Regardless of how much he cost, he's just not offering enough in the final 3rd at the moment. Which is why he should be on the bench as soon as Pritchard is fit. As I'm confident he would offer more than Lamela in any of the 3 attacking positions.

Yesterday he was in the no 10 role playing against a team playing 442 so there should have been some space between the lines for him to do some damage but he just never looked dangerous. Never looked like creating anything, tried to take on a player once and failed. Yea he's working hard but I'd rather he didn't and contributed more to our attack, that's what we desperately need but he doesn't seem capable. I don't think he's ever had one game for us like Mahrez did yesterday which has made me think "yep Lamela is going to be a big player for us"

My feelings too his value will continue the drop, as he struggles. He is not suited to this league at all.

Spot on. As fans, we all want him to succeed, but it had become painfully clear he's not going to cut it for us. I think with Pritchard emerging and the arrival of N'Jie, his playing minutes will diminish this season as well.

It is quite identical to the Soldado situation: despite all his hard work and effort, it just isn't happening for him. We should cut our losses on him imo.

Are we going to have to sell at any price?

I'm not having a dig at Erik, but this cannot be doing the lad any good.

It is such a shame but, 'hoping he is going to come good' is just plain stupid coz he is not.

Maybe you don't like the truth.
These quotes and ITK are right here in this thread.
I'm not making it up, you can go back and read them if you wish.
Or you could just go on trying to make your posts funny to deflect from your frustration on being wrong.
Or you could write to DL and demand he be sold because your opinion is more valid than MPs.

there's two sides to this fee debate. on one hand you have those saying fans use it as a stick to beat him with and harshly judge him with the 30m fee in mind but then you can also say there's no way those asking for patience and saying we need to persevere with him would be doing so if he'd only cost a fraction of that amount. let's say we'd kept iago falque and given him two years of 1st team football and he had given us what lamela has, he'd have been written off ages ago as not being good enough by the same fans who are still backing lamela. the sad truth is, falque and lamela are a similar level of player but we sold one for a few million and bought the other for 30.

You seem to take this very personally and in turn make it very personal

Poch was quoted a fortnight ago saying Soldado wasn't for sale and was part of our plans. In the ITK thread a month or so ago there were posts saying he was staying. Your points on quotes and posts rely on everyone always telling the truth which, to me, seems a little naive

The "fact" is that Lamela excited everyone when he signed, everyone is desperate for him to do well because everyone loves the club. But he hasn't. Not even close. People defending him speak of agendas and blinkered views (ironically ignoring their own) but I believe if he started ripping it up he'd have everyone's support. But he hasn't even come close to that.

For me he's a talent but a mismatch. And it's got to the stage where he's wearing somebody else's shirt

I shall now await your vitriol and spite

Anyone with an ounce of football knowledge should be able to see that Lamela just isn't the player that someone thought we were buying, maybe we bought his brother who used to play for a non league team somewhere,or a pub team on a Sunday.

He brings nothing to the team, absolutely nothing and for Poch to keep wasting a shirt on him is total madness. I can only assume that Poch is as clueless and some are now beginning to think

If Juventus want him,we should take their arm off at the elbow, book a very fast private jet,sit him in a nice comfy seat and take the money before they change their mind

If a good offer came in he would be sold in a heartbeat. I dont think once Berahino and Njie get in the team he is going to start much, he will be behind them and Eriksen and Chadli.

No offence but you are deluded if you think Lamela would not be sold. If a good offer came in he would be sold.

Created the 2nd most chances in the Prem yesterday, with 5.

Really weird stat, considering most of our judgements about him yesterday.

It has been covered over and over again... He took our corners, that is why he "created" a lot of "chances".
