would bite your hand off if the £30 million we paid out on him were to be offered. Its the same crap virtually every week. Give the ball away, slow the play down, concede needless fouls. We really aren't very good at big money signings are we?

He is not in good form right now thats for sure - isn't doing enough right now. He will be grand though.

I would not be surprised if he is released sooner rather than later. He really is going to have to UP his game. You cannot have your 4 midfielders in this system only have one goal threat (Dele). Assists is one thing. You can cater for Eriksen, and Son now firing. You then have to make tough decisions, and Erik has to do much better to earn that contract.

Talk about exaggeration. He had a great end to last season and good start to this one. Just because he's a little off form does not all of a sudden mean "he [will be] released sooner rather than later". Erkisen has had patchy form this season, so has Alli - every player goes through it. Yes, we need goal threats but we also need goal creators and Lamela is demonstratively one of the best we have.

Don't think being shoved out to the left has helped him one bit.

He's so much better cutting in onto his left foot.

What? Eriksen, Son, Alli and Lamela are all goal threats in that 4 behind the striker. All 10-12 goal a season players, Alli and Son potentially 13-15.

My opinion, and you have yours. Nothing wrong with that.

Deli-yes; Son-yes; Eriksen-maybe; Lamela-potentially yes, but not stepped up this season, and contract situ not confirmed.

Well he's got two years left and he cost £28m, so I'm going to guess we won't be "releasing" him any time soon.

Commercially speaking, if for whatever reason they cannot come to an agreement on new terms they will sell him.

Isnt he signed through 2019? So in reality, a new 5 year deal right now only adds 2 more years. Makes sense to wait a few months to sign one. I'd look for him to sign a new 5.5 year deal in or around January locking him up through 2022, tbh.

Playing on the left is the worst position for Erik. in the middle he can speed play up with his first time passing and draw players onto him and take them on with his drag backs or pass to someone better placed. On the right the whole pitch is open to him and he can play with his head up and on the move pass for give and goes, on the left he has to slow things down; stop, cut in onto his weaker side and it just generally isn't productive for him or us.

Don't know how Sissoko has become a fixture on the right TBH with his "I'm running here, if you get in my way that's your problem" dribbling style that looks like every touch is a lottery.

Erik is one of the few we have that can change the tempo of play so playing him in a position that negates that is quite odd.

I think this is purely down to what you want, not necessarily what will happen.
Definitely not down to what I want. More to do with an opinion which is factual as things stand re his contract only having 2 and bit years left to run.
