As long as Erik has a couple of good minders to look after him and not those who were with Willian!

Realise i'm probably adding to a lot of empty speculation by saying this, but the one thing that strikes me as odd is his complete radio silence on social media. He was as active as Dier, Alli and the like before but there has been nothing since end of Nov. Obviously his brother's accident might account for some of that, but it is still pretty unusual for him.

Pochettino saying he needed a "change of scene." His family are mostly in Argentina, right? Part of me was hoping he just needed some time with the family if they were still in Rome, but I believe he went to Argentina a few weeks back when his brother was in the hospital.

He has a special affinity to the medical staff at Roma, and it's depressing being at Spurs because no-one else is ill. He has the same hip injury which made him "doubtful" to play the Levekusen game a day before. And he's been close to returning ever since. Well, he's close-ish. Maybe.

It might all be true. Who knows? But it feels better than evens that something else is going on, and whatever it is, there's a good chance that we won't see him again. Which would be a massive shame.

If there was something going on I don't think poch would have said what he said this afternoon. He would've been more cagey.

Hip injuries are bitches. Look at Dembele, he always had(s) troubles with his hip. 3 weeks would turn to 6, 6 to 12 etc etc. Hopefully he's only a few more weeks from returning but we're obviously not 100% sure when he will be back hence we're not giving any dates.

God we love a story don't we.

Probably because everything is rosey at the mo so gotta find something insidious to go on about.

Even though potch literally lays it out exactly in open clean and clear detail what the deal is with Lamela, and why he's at roma along with other spurs staff recovering

Sorry but it's very odd. Haven't been told the actual medical diagnosis, why does he need to go to Rome? If it's an injury just get treatment here. Something not right

He retweeted post-Chelsea jubilation from a number of his colleagues, two days ago.

Nothing is wrong. Erik is Poch's talisman and Erik has become the player he is because of Poch. Don't see anything in this speculation.

"He asked to finish his recovery time there and the club, us, the staff, we believe its right, that sit. We hope that after that period he will available to start to train again with the team. Always it's difficult for the player who spend a lot of time injured, more time than he believed and we believed it would be.

'The energy of the team … sometimes he's frustrated that he cannot be involved, and today it's only him that is out of the group.

'He has a special link with a physio or doctor in Rome. I say thank-you to Roma for open the door to him and try to recover the player, along with some staff that is with Lamela, our staff are there with him.

'We hope that in a few weeks, he will maybe be available again to be involved in training sessions with the rest of the group.'

Yep very odd, everything Poch just said is a lie, really we're selling him and he's having a medical in roma.
Bringing in Zaha next week to replace.

Feel better now? Bit of ITK for u

Hey read the thread when Lloris hurt his wrist and everyone thought that the club were gonna sell him, that was funny.

Plus he looks like the keyboard player in a goth band and some people hate that

Quality, that tickled me...

It does not sound promising that he is still a few weeks away - in poch-speak - from training with the squad. That puts him probably 6 weeks away from playing...
