But freeing up a non home grown spot for a home grown player. He has played 97 minutes in the cup, so he does get time when we need to rest players.
Maybe but I don’t see much value in a player playing less than 200 minutes of football in half a season.

Champions league last 16.. without him I don't think we would ended up scoring against Barcelona.

Maybe, like I say I am happy with Son and Moura as backup as they plenty of game time in the attacking mid positions too.

Just don’t think we need to buy a player to essentially never play.

Just when he's beginning to find his feet, bit sad at this, don't rate him that highly anymore but he was proving useful when we bought him off the bench

Dont think we would of beat Burnley without the arial threat of Llorente at the end to give us another option.
I think he must start against Tranmere (regardless if he is sold in Jan), as 3 games in 6 games is crazy, especially when considering other who can play up front such as Son and Lucas need a rest after all that fixture congestion.

We're still in 4 comps.. It would be folly to sell him In this window..
I still think he has a defining goal or appearance to come.
Coming of the bench and laying on orIt may be a goalmouth scramble in the last minute of a game etc..
I doubt you'd get anywhere near £4mil for him either.

If we get £12m be a miracle I’d expect about £4m if we are lucky.

Don't know were you have that from? We paid 12m for him... Galatasaray bidding 1m according to the football london article - which seems reasonable considering he would be a free agent in summer

Someone in this thread said £12m. I think we have to replace him unless we are gonna promote sterling or Parrott(too soon imo). Otherwise it just means we have 1 less option and Ultimately that can only make us weaker even if it’s 2% weaker it’s still weaker.

I deffo would keep him until the summer, he is a experienced winner, won serie a and world cup, good player to have in the squad, seems low-maintenance as well. Also with 4 competitions and so many fixtures, he will have a part to play (hopefully for him more than just a last ditch plan b)

I've been overall disappointed with how we've used him. Given our attacking midfield players I think he could play more games and we could still score goals. But like many have pointed out he's only played 97 minutes thus far so if we move him out and that allows us to move Foyth into the squad I'm not going to complain about it. Lucas & Son are clearly better options up top anyways and I would hope we look to bring in a replacement either in the winter or next summer. Regardless of how Son & Lucas can fill in we still need a dedicated backup forward IMO.

Jan Fiete Arp was at the game today.

Young striker from Hamburg. I think if we picked him up this summer he would have counted as HG by the time he turned 21.

Thats the guy that idolises kane isn't it?
Yeah, he's a Spurs fan so not surprising he was at the game. Only thing that was a bit odd was that he came with a friend/another German u19 player and Arp sat at midfield it looked like and his friend was in the corner.
