He looked better yesterday but he's going to be at his most effective when he has players with good movement running off of him and without Kane, Son or Alli that wasn't going to happen.

He played in most of our cup games last year and started off bloody awful. By the time he'd played a few he looked OK.

He's doing the job you'd expect from a third choice forward and performing a role which has covered for Kane, Alli, and Son and still seen us win league games.

I'm really not sure what people are expecting.

He actually played well last night, bar the two misses his hold up play was really good, probably the best I've seen it since he's been at Spurs.

I've seen a few mentions of his assist for Son.
Are people serious? He never had it under control and the defender touched it into Sons path lol.

My favourite thing about Llorente yesterday was that despite the two misses, there he was with his hand up demanding a cross from Rose as the game crept towards the end. . He wasn't hiding.... He wanted it and was big enough to take the chance.

I think people are making too much of his "two" misses the one over the bar was very difficult to control at that distance from goal. Yep the header could have been better but Kane has been guilty of the same. Along with his winner his general play was good.

He's a different player to Kane so you have to alter the way you play to accommodate him into the team.

Think he's had 6 goals and 1 assist in 6 starts this season (6 goals, 2 assists in 17apps)

I do hope he does well, he was shite in the palace game but against watford he was getting better with the link up play and really got involved more and that header was quality. In the watford game i did get a bit annoyed by the commentators saying he should have scored that chance where he hit it with his knee. To me that was such a short distance and he had barely any time to alter his body shape to head it or do anything else so he just had to prod it and see what happened. Probably a shorter more nimble player would have got it but llorente is huge.

Or a player with one very short leg, who could have volleyed it cleanly. We need more of them in the squad.

Agreed, he made errors in the game, but that wasn't really one of them, and all strikers miss more than they score. I don't rate him, but think we have to give him a run now. He's actually getting results, goals and assists, whether they're off his arse or not doesn't matter.

36 Premier league starts (3 for us), 17 Premier league goals (2 for us). Has it not occurred to people that he potentially is far better if he starts games than if he's thrown on to save us with 10/15 minutes to go in a desperate situation, and that (based on his Swansea form) if he is starting games regularly he will be fitter, sharper and more in sync with the players around him?

He should score that first chance against watford, lets be honest.

Of course, we could (and probably should) have a better back up, but at his age and lack of minutes we've spent more money on worse

Thing is, he isn't even the back up striker. Thats normally Son. He is our third choice striker, and he isn't a bad option at all for that role. Similarly he can be used in the last ten minutes of a game, normally with Kane, to unsettle the defense and he has done that effectively. Ultimately he has actually made some key contributions when thy have mattered. We will probably have to find someone else in the summer, but I'm happy with him.

I think his willingness to fight and struggle is a reminder that he was had a terrific career for good reason. It's a tough role to play (Kane back up) and perhaps it also came a couple of years too late for him.
Appreciate his effort and wish him well for this season and beyond - hope he can score (for us!) against Newcastle at the weekend - could see a Fernando, Moura and Lamela front 3

He's a very good option as a late sub in that his game is much more about knock downs and linking up than it is about hold up play. Kane, Son, Dele or Moura playing off Llorente should work well in theory but in practice we've not given him enough minutes for everyone to get used to it. He should also thrive off crosses from the wingbacks and already has to some extent, but with Llorente they don't have to get to the byline and could actually put in some earlier balls from deeper positions.
