bale just came off the back of scoring and assisting in multiple games playing for that manager. He was just poor today sadly

It's not the attacking stuff that was so infuriating today for me. We were shit going forwards generally so that's not necessarily his fault. I do take exception to him walking about it at times standing still while Doherty behind him is having to deal with two or three attackers on his own though. Bale didn't even look the least bit concerned about it. And for him to then throw a tantrum when he gets taken off is just ridiculous.

Taking him off was an absolute disgrace though and he didn't look happy either for the first time.

For Sissoko as well! It's possibly the most bizarre subtition I have ever seen. With Son injured, 1-1 and desperate for the win. Can some explain it to me?

Mourinho only has a job at the moment because of Bales form winning us games in the last 5 matches.

Keep the best players on the pitch it ain't rocket science. Only in football can someone be paid so much to get everything so wrong!

This should have been the most magical season for us! Bale and Kane in the same team! It's took mourinho months to finally do it. Any other manager in the prem would be doing better with this sqaud. He is massively under performing.

Hardly got players around him to get the best out of him.

The look on his face told you that he wasn't happy about the way we were set up, that was anger about his performance. Bale is a genuine lad and if he'd player poorly I'm sure he'd have had a different expression on his face (probably frustration) but he knows that Jose didn't help him and the team today.

Yea exactly. Can't be excused. So to accommodate him which we need to because he has genuine quality we play him upfront with Kane in the number 10 or vice versa

We can't rely on him to defend against teams that can attack. He doesn't need to defend much v palace, Zagreb, Burnley but against better teams he can't be trusted

Yep , if bale stays on he makes some type of impact . Mourinho needs to drop his agenda with work rate and players , bale should be in a 10 role like he was when he left us almost a free role. He shouldn’t be subbed off for not tracking back ffs IMO

I am starting to agree with this also. His agenda against players is ridiculous! He screams at Dele for a stray pass late in the game but hodjberg had a woeful game and gets away with it

Jose seems to really dislike players with any flair , I always thought Portuguese were flair players but some of the coaches are very very defensive and cynical in there approach

Probably the whack he took on his knee from the last game? But the forward line isn’t working well because we can’t get the ball to them in the right areas, they did create opportunities when we did manage to get the ball to them in the final third, it’s just too few and far between. The problem last night when we had the ball is in the midfield, tanguy especially as he’s the one responsible for the transition of the ball from the defense to the attack with his line breaking pass or the drive through the middle but he didn’t do anything last night. Defending wise Bale was bad, just like the other attacking players that they should have press from the front, being so static in a game like last night is simply inexcusable.

I don't understand why mourinho didn't put him at 10 with Kane and Lamela on the right. A simple switch in the first half he could have made with the players on field to try and change things.

Bale's defensive workrate was near on embarrassing though in a NLD. It made it even more frustrating that he'd press up centrally or their LCB leaving a gaping hole on our right exposing Doherty. It was weird, looked as though it was tactical as was repeated so many times. If you're not going to track at least sit deep
