I very much get the sense that he and his agent are very content getting 600K a week doing nothing. Therefore, will not budge for anything less then what he currently makes. The only time we have seen him motivated to move was last year when the Chinese club wanted to negotiate a 1m a week contract. Then Real blocked the move. So, hard to say if he has any fire in his belly anymore. Because if he loved playing, he'd have found a way out of Real more than a year ago. Alas, I think he's more passionate about his paycheck then kicking a ball.

And even if he was slightly interested, I can't see Levy sanctioning a two year loan paying Bale at least a third of his wages with Real supplementing the rest. Not to mention, Real will probably ask for a loan fee in the range of 10m per year. Meaning, Bale would cost the club near 60M over two years. Methinks we aren't that flush.

Hi agent wouldn't be getting that though, wouldn't he get more money if bale was to be sold and get a cut that way?

From the outside looking in it seems Bale in it for the money... The relationship between he and Zidane between the lines feels toxic. Like Ozil and other top players sitting at clubs collecting obscene amounts of money and not giving back on the football pitch ( not always the players fault) it seem such a waste. You wonder why these players don't come to a sensible resolution with the club stop being greedy and move on.
What a crime to football not seeing the best players playing because of money.

While it was for money, I thought he was heading to China and the club stopped the move?

I wonder why Zidane doesn’t rate Bale, it’s weird, it’s not like he doesn’t score plenty of goals etc when he does play. There must be some bad blood between them for some reason or another.

Zidane courted and seduced him to Madrid now the love affairs looks dead.

He was signed under Ancelotti?
True but Zidane and many others connected with Real were using the media to make the deal happen. Here's what Zidane said on Bale joining:

“It is not unusual when a player knows that Real Madrid are interested in them that they get excited,” he said. “There is nothing more prestigious for a player to wear the white of Real Madrid.

“The chance to play for Real Madrid might only come around once in a player's lifetime - and it is understandable that Gareth doesn't want to miss out on it.

“Last season Gareth was on the same level as Ronaldo and Messi.

“The best players can have not so great games - but change a game with a moment of brilliance. Those are the sort of players that win you Champions League's and League titles.

“He is already one of the finest player in Europe and he has everything needed to become the best player in the world. It is a bit of a cliche - but it is true you become a better player playing with better players.”

Yup Zizou, you have two of your CL wins because of Gareth doing just that.

I reckon he’s just jealous that Gareth’s goal is better than his CL final goal...

Shame. He’s not coming home. Golf is his enjoyment. He’s set up for life financially. Good luck Gareth in your endeavours

Think any hopes of financial feasibility died with COVID happening.

I will say though, I think his ankles and knees are worse than may be let on in the press. Don’t see him playing a significant role in any contending side ever again. Such a shame, he was legitimately top 5 in the world for a few years.

Son-Kane-Bale = best front 3, probably in the world.

Will it happen? Almost definitely not but even with 0.1% of a chance, it's nice to dream Audere est Facere after all.

Plus this thread is fun

Look. Bale was your hot ex a while ago. You had lots of fun and had wild times. Maybe the best ever. Sure, a reunion would be fun, maybe for a couple of nights, then you realize why they are ex, plus half of Spain has had a go since.
