He’ll be a huge asset in the last 1- 2 months of the season if he keeps this up. He could be the difference between winning a trophy and not winning a trophy.

If he gets anywhere near back to his best we're in with a shot of the league again because he will help us big time against the lesser sides where we've been dropping points.
Possibly but we’d need to go on a big run to make up for some of our slip ups as city man.u will not drop many points, especially city.

Changed your mind after the way he burst past defenders on multiple occasions tonight? It looked to me like his acceleration is pretty much back now, even if he can't bomb up and down the wing for 90 minutes like he used to.

Needs to do more to convince me but
let's hope he keeps it up.

Needs to bust his ass to get in the box when we're breaking and he doesn't have the ball.

Better tonight, but it was Wycombe.

I hope Jose gives him some Prem starts.

Didn't see the game but the highlights above is encouraging. Don't know if it's as simple as Jose saying publicly that he needs to 'earn hhis minutes and that prompts a reaction but great to see him taking on players and getting shots off from good positions. A good night for him though, no question.

Or, it shows that he's finally getting confidence in his own fitness and that Jose actually knows what he's doing?
Nope. Its open knowledge Bale is frustrated with his lack of minutes handed to him. Mourinho has done nothing right here. If we get there with Bale it will be in spite of everything Mourinho. Bale is finally getting confidence because its the law of averages that he will find it when you give him enough time in the scenario required to find it. i.e. on the FUCKING PITCH!

In Bale we have a player who was not far off from being the best player in the world at one point... To have gotten so little from him thus far rests with our pig stubborn unadventurous, overly cautious coach. For me he looked the best player on the pitch tonight and that was still true when we brought on all the first teamers, and he did it looking like he wasn't even trying ( I know he was, obviously). You telling me we needed to wait this fucking long for that to finally happen. The season and his loan is over half done...

Question is why do we stand for this shit as spurs fans. The mind fuck is strong on you muppets because you either 1) don't notice he hasn't been playing when you assess him, and 2) you don't even realise it's an issue... so WTF to yourselves!

Really liked that performance tonight. Wycombe are poor, but hardly part timers. They way he glided past their defence effortlessly on numerous occasions was really nice to see.

Need to see a bit more of him in the league now.

You are way off the mark here.

Jose tried to give Bale the homecoming occasion by bringing him on against West Ham, where he showed he was miles away from being at the level beeded. So he decided to use the Europa as a chance for him to shine. Bale, by his own admission, said he needed to treat the Europa League like a preseason and boost his fitness/confidence.

Unfortunately he drifted in and out, and hardly made a big enough impression to suggest he was remotely close to making an impact in the PL. Jose even gave him the WBA game, in which again he didn't do enough.

It's clear Jose felt Bale should have been further ahead in his progress and should have started to be knocking on the door but he hasnt delivered. That's on Bale not Jose.

Bale says he needs a run of games to show, and maybe thats true but he also needs to show something even if its just glimpses that can be built on, or a solid 30 mins here and there. Unfortunately he hadn't really been doing that.

Today was a massive step forward, if he can show that next time out and more then we can start to look forward to him starting more often. But he can't hide, which is what I feel he has been doing at times

Hope he get minutes against Liverpool off the bench but at worst, he should start against Brighton.

He's putting in a performance right now that makes Mourinho look like a total prick for the lack of game time he's been given.
If he had been playing him consistently in the PL we would have seen this ages ago and been things would only have progressed further by now.
If Bale doesn't get the full 90 from here Mourinho can eat shit.

How Bale played tonight was what I was expecting he would do in his first few games with us. So he is 3 months behind schedule as he was out injured for a month

This is a whole heap of nonsense, Bale hasn't been at the required level when he's been called upon, its that simple.

You get picked you need to take your chances and he hasn't done that before tonight, as I said let's hope he's turned the corner.

Everything you said basically was "he hasn't been good enough" - not considering he hasn't been put in the first team. So I'm clearly on the mark. We would be further along and might even be winning this league by now, which must be the weakest overall standard from big teams in a long time, had the time been invested in Gareth on the pitch where it counts. When Bale comes good as I believe it will, it can only show Mourinho's mistakes and shortcomings. There is no single other interpretation of it.

I think it would be useful to calm down a bit lad. It’s just a forum. Much love, Stoofio.

It really doesnt work like that. Look at Ndombele.

Sometimes a bit of criticism is needed and a message to be sent to get the player to respond. Tanguy got that message and is reaping the rewards. I guarantee if Jose hadn't have done that Tanguy would be turning it on when he feels like.

Its the same with Bale, he needs to be pushed to get past that mentality of not wanting to push his body too much.

Even Harry Redknapp had to give Bale tough love to bring the best out of him.

Jose has coached a ton of players and knows what hes doing.
