I did have a feeling that source might be dodgy, as nobody else followed it up:
To be fair to him, he's played under five different managers at spurs.Would have loved to see him play for us under a manager who tactically suited his style of football. Clearly didn’t work in Jose or Nunos systems. Wish him all the best.
It is a shame he appeared not to be cut out for the Premier League. Were it not for the economic fragility of many European clubs he's a £40m player when he consistently performs (as he does for Argentina). I wonder if Poch (if he's still at PSG next season) fancies a punt on him again; reckon he could do well there.Price going down
Hasn’t he already played for them?It is a shame he appeared not to be cut out for the Premier League. Yep, need to get messi to speak to mbappe about that don’t think poch has much say anymore ?Hasn’t he already played for them?
What is happening
Nah he’s been pretty much crushing it for Argentina whilst with us.Cant wait till next world cup when half the board will want him back after absolutely crushing it for Argentina. If this was a normal world cup year would have been great to wait till after the world cup to sell him. Can see him at a proper big club in a few years. Would try to get a sell on clause in any deal.
Just think a mix of the injuries and the apparent vibes/integration issues have counted against him. He was great on the original loan and there have been a few almost moments that it looked like he could turn it around. But ultimately I think his stock will deprecate if he stays at spurs and he needs to move on.
He must have hit the post a few times. Hes so good at those last minute curlers sailing wide at the last minute of an embarrassing 1-0 defeat.Me to mate.
I know he did reasonably well for a wee spell but overall he was poor.
I mean one goal in 51 league appearances for a guy with his quality was horrendous.
Not to mention the injuries.
That's a decent fee imo.
I fully agree. I just fancy Argentina to do really well at the WC. Tempted for a cheeky bet on them winning the thing. I could see his value rocket up.Nah he’s been pretty much crushing it for Argentina whilst with us.
He’s just not suited for us.

GLC has missed a total of 45 games since he has arrived at spurs through injury.
Added to this he has a record of 1 goal and 3 assists in 55 games in the premier league.
Comparing to some random players...
Serge aurier - 77 games, 12 assists, 5 goals.
But he's an attacking full back I hear you say.
Ok stat of the day, Ben Davies has a better goal and assist ratio per game than GLC in the premier league.
Take the money and run. I would even argue that he has been a bigger flop than Tanguy.
This season he has been 'ok' for Villarreal. If they spend anywhere near 20m we have got incredibly lucky.

In fact apart from one season with Betis where he scored 8 goals, he has done next to nothing in his club career.
To this day I'm not really sure what type of player he is. He is not a goalscorer, he doesn't make assists and he is not a defensive player.
The argument could be made to say he is a player that sets the tempo and pass before the pass player. A Silva or Modric type player, but he has never been anywhere near those players levels.
From memory he had a few promising games under José and he is certainly decent for Argentina, but for what we spent on him it is nothing short of an absolute waste of money.
Bergwijn, lo Celso and ndombele our three biggest signings pre paratici and they all could be argued for worst signing of the century so far. All three have had injury/fitness problems, all three have failed to settle and all three will probably go this year.
There is talent in all three players but none of them have adapted to the premier league. Talk about bad scouting. What is it 100m on those three players? And if we recoup half of that we will have done well.
I would even argue that he has been a bigger flop than Tanguy.
