I hope we sign Maddison and make him number 1. That would really annoy a lot of people.

Hopefully a good signing for what sounds like a decent fee

Hope that the saving we've made instead of going for Reya means we'll get at least some of the 400 CBs we've been linked with

Thirteen is also considered a lucky number in Italy.

This is because

a) it relates to the thirteen lunar months in a year and is consequently associated with fertility and life; and
b) Italians are, let's face it, contrary fuckers

Now, seventeen. Well, that's a completely different kettle of fish. Seventeen is massively bad luck because

a) The Roman numeral for seventeen (XVII) is an anagram of VIXI (Latin for 'I have lived') and is therefore associated with death; and
b) Italians are, I say again, contrary fuckers

So we may demur when a keeper opts for thirteen, but, if he's Italian, he'll be well made up.
Cheers, Romario!

Superb first interview. He has a really good grasp of the language and he seems to really articulate himself well.

I particularly liked how he described himself as an attacking keeper. I think that bodes well with what we hope to see in terms of our play this coming season.

Anyway, love the passion from him and I wish him all the best for the season ahead and for his time with us. Go get 'em mate!

Not every word but the ones that made me feel all warm inside:

"For me it is a big pleasure to be here; it's so exciting. I started my career at the bottom. It was so difficult; I had to do all the levels. This experience makes my mentality strong. This is my dream but I want to live my dream now.

I think I can define myself as an attacking keeper. It is a different way to see the role but I am ready for this. The coach, he told me the keeper is so important with his attacking mentality. It is a position with big responsibility because if you fail [then] 99% [of the time it] is a goal for the opponents but I love this responsibility.

I love to save, I love to be at contact with the grass. All the fans when you save they say 'Ooohh' and I love listening to this. The fans are amazing. This is my dream to see and to face the Spurs fans because I just see on the television how warm-hearted [they are]."

He said something about his opponents when he makes a save but I couldn't make it out. Anyone?

Number 13 is a good traditional goalkeeper number tbh.

Would prefer he took 1 but looks likely he just prefers 13, as otherwise we would have waited to see if 1 was vacated before confirming his number.

Wonder who will take 1?

Just watched his first interview. Damn he's intense! Could have sat and listened to him for 15-20 minutes quite happily.
