A stupid decision that went a long way to ruining what was a good performance overall. It's not like Lozano (who was immense from start to finish) had a tap-in there.

I like having him on the team and I think the drunk driving thing was so surprising since it seemed like a complete departure from his usual character. But a big part of me is wondering now whether a change in scenery wouldn't be the best thing for him right now, as well as for the club. He desperately needs resetting, if you will.

My view with him still stands, he's too quiet and passive IMO to be the team captain. Totally no command and control on the field.

As a club captain, he has lost it from his drink-driving incident. Sorry.
Still maintain it was a complete own goal to just merely sweep the drink driving incident under the carpet and keep the Captaincy.

It's not the odd occasion this with Hugo, it's an alarmingly regular occurrence and i'm sorry, but if you're a club with aspirations of winning titles then you can't rely on Lloris to be the cornerstone.

.....and please don't refer to the World Cup win as some sort of vindication to suggest otherwise - use a greater thought process. Joe Hart won titles at City and still Pep knew straight away it was an area that needed upgrading.

Not going to slam Hugo ultimately we were 2-1 up when he went, even with 10 against PSV are good enough to hold. The fact we didn’t is not his fault.

He shouldn’t have come rushing out though, he is captain but it isn’t his responsibility to save everyone’s arse when they fuck up, this is the issue in my opinion he's trying to be superman, he just needs to be a good keeper.

It is amazing how he makes regular, giant fuck ups in our biggest games. You'd think after costing us Barcelona after 2 minutes he might have learned to think twice about steaming out of his goal when there's absolutely no need to.

Man hasn't been the same since he lifted the world cup.

His comments the other day irked me, fucking joker.

Tonight can be added to his fuck ups in the last eighteen months in a Spurs shirt.

honestly he deserves to be dropped but he wont be because hes captain, yes he was fantastic vs west ham but if you compare his and gazza's recent form then theres only one winner, maybe a spell on the bench would benefit him

So who would even be a realistic replacement? I can't really think of any obvious choices out there, even though it's totally unrealistic Poch would make the move to start cutting him out. We'll just have to start hoping for improved form.

I can't think of any keepers who are available for the price of a tour around Europe's biggest club shop either

Why haven't any of the coaching team just told him to not do it? If that's the case and he continues to do it then that's on him. It's why he never joined a bigger club. Not out of some kind of blind loyalty.

It's clear Hugo is Poch's boy too. They're tight and even if the opportunity was there he wouldn't be replaced.

"I won't finish my career at Spurs"

Think you should focus on the pitch rather than drink driving and chatting **** to the media.

Not disliked a spurs player like him right now for a while.

Chats rubbish then ****s up. He was good v West Hal but let's be honest another top keeper wouldn't have not saved those shots

Our window for getting good money for Hugo will be open for another 15 months or so.

He’s France captain, PSG are the ones to flog him to. Too many mistakes

It was a bad mistake, all this gnashing of teeth is a bit OTT, he has them in him (and ALWAYS has) more than the majority of top keepers, but still less than Gomes thankfully.

He comes out a lot, he gets it wrong on occasion...tonight it's cost us.

Also had us down 1-0 within minutes with an unexplainable run out against Barca. Just a recent memory. Too many to count if we go back a season or two.

Is it really too many? Will we pay the money to get an adequate replacement? Will they bed in quickly? Does anyone have faith in Vorm or Gazza there with any regularity?

Let's not get too carried away.

(For what it's worth I've often criticised Hugo on here and appeared to be outspoken)

I just think there are much bigger issues than this one. Freeze the frame when Eriksen concedes, suicide positioning from the team all round at that stage.

Id put replacing the GK a solid 7-8 on the priorities.

It wasn't even just the decision to come out that was the only problem, the tackle itself was absolutely awful and was a red card on its own.

I still think don't think we should be getting carried away with this talk of selling him.
