Why personal attacks on a stranger instead of critiquing their differing opinion with your own?
I think my post critiqued their post enough, along with all the negative and funny reactions to theirs. I said it was a ridiculous take.. because it is. anyone can see that it's a mad thing to say.. and so not worth any engagement other than a sarcastic one. To say he's been a shit gk and shit captain is something one might say if they weren't right in the head.

You realise this is the internet, right?

Regardless of his performances I think this guy is actually quite downbeat and negative and for me has never ever been the captain and leader we need.

Great servant for the club and at times a phenomenal keeper but if we want a truly fresh start next season I'd like to see him gone and see a new captain, Kane if he stays otherwise maybe Bentancur or someone like that.

Club captain or not, Forster had come in and given our back line a semblance of calmness when playing from the back that Lloris never managed. It felt a lot like a Mason decision just like when he took over from Jose and we saw all the old favourites returning to the starting lineup.

I know he was pissed off at the result etc but my god I'm so fed up of Hugo the person, sorry but he is so negative and dour, he's not a leader, never had been and as good as a goalie as he was for us for many years and I thank him for that, I think having him as our captain for so long has been one of the reasons why we never got over the line to win something.

There I said it.

finally, someone said it, look at man city captains kompany man city , terry chelsea, list goes on, always got there team over the line, lloris was well known to make mistakes in big games, which meant we just couldn't get over the line to win anything, mind you his not the only one to blame for that.

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain.

Lloris should never have signed a new contract. Easy to say in hindsight but his time here, which has mostly been tremendous, is getting soured.

I feel for him. He has been an incredible servant for us and I’ll always respect him but he should’ve been replaced last year.

Well said, I mean ffs you’re the captain. Come out and maybe take a bit of blame. Say you need to be a better leader when times are tough. Nope. I will come out and give a limp arse speech that we’re all a bit shit and lazy. And pretend you’ve an injury. He said he felt a little bit of pain ffs. I wouldn’t go to work ever if when I woke up my excuse was not to go In because I felt a bit of pain. (Builder) thanks Hugo but a keeper that can’t kick a football has no place on a football pitch.

Shit captain and shit goalkeeper. Won’t be sad at all when he fucks off in the summer. Consistently let us down even when he was in his ‘prime’.

I hope you have never demanded loyalty from our players, because you sure have none yourself.

Stating the obvious and being honest is not a sign of disloyalty.
It isn’t honest. It’s just wholly inaccurate and nasty. In 2019 his penalty save vs Aguero contributed to our run to the CL final and his last minute penalty save vs Aubameyang to secure a draw against Arsenal in a season where we finished 1 point above them in 4th was arguably the deciding factor in us getting Champions League football. To say he consistently let us down in his prime is bollocks.

I get people are angry but some of the stuff being said about Hugo is embarrassing. He’s a club legend who can’t cope with the demands of top level football anymore. It’s not his fault. If you feel angry and upset about his poor performances, imagine how he feels.

When we signed him, he was a great signing and has proved to be great. Issue is during time with us, game has moved on and the top teams need their keepers to be good with the ball at feet. Let's be honest, Lloris is crap with the ball at feet and looks under pressure and can't kick it that well let alone pass it.

He's captain because he's the only one articulate enough and has the balls to come out in front of the cameras after our shitshows and shoulder the blame. He's clearly been captain for nearly 10 years because of the repect everyone has for him in the club. Lenglet was in awe of him when he arrived, due to his World Cup win. If anything he's deserved better than the bullshit he's had to put up with at this club, and the loyalty and love he has for us is beyond question. This is a disaster season for everyone involved.

Stating the obvious and being honest is not a sign of disloyalty.

But it's not, is it? It's just wrong, and even if it was right, there is no need to be so hostile to a loyal servant of our club.

Do you think he would be our captain if the other players thought he was shit, both as a keeper and a captain?

No, in this case it's a sign of rank stupidity.

It's not obvious and honest, it's disrespectful, inaccurate, childish and spiteful.

He's past his best to say the least but he's served the club well for the best part of his career and doesn't deserve that kind of thing at all.

You realise this is the internet, right?

Telling someone to "take their medication" is extremely disrespectful to both the poster and those of us who actually have to take medication for mental illness.

This may be the internet, but it doesn't give you the right to be a bully.

Do better.

Honestly think @H-SF was just venting frustrations, we've all been guilty of that at one point or another.

I doubt he genuinely thinks Lloris is a shit keeper.

Some of the hyperbole being spouted here is absurd.

- We equalled our highest league position since 1990 with Lloris in goal.

- We recorded our highest league position since 1961 with Lloris in goal.

- We reached the final of Europe's premier cup competition for the first ever time with Lloris in goal.

We can only dream of those kinds of achievements right now.

He is also France's most capped-ever player and captained them to a World Cup.

I'm not really sure why Lloris seems to have taken a bit of a hammering from the fans yesterday. He was literally hung out to dry by the fucking 10 players in front of him.

In the same way it was possible to apportion the blame between the owners, the manager and the players, it is entirely possible to state that Lloris has been a great servant but is now not the player he was. It's also worth, in hindsight, considering that one of the consistencies in our semi-final/final non-events is that our captain was Hugo Lloris.

That doesn't mean we undermine any of his absolutely imperative moments in a Spurs shirt (penalty saves, amazing saves etc.) nor does it mean we ignore his absolute brain-disappearances in big games.

Maybe, in fact, he sums up Tottenham more than we even realise.

I'm sad that it's come to this, but I don't think I want him to play again for us.
