We have to get his back up /replacement sorted this summer. I don't think Gollini is the one... Hugo will be a hard act to follow.

But but, he's only world class at stopping shots and not at every single aspect of goal keeping.

Yeah, hope some people here finally understand just how insane it is to complain about something like that when it comes to a GK.

Hugo has been with us ten years and we've yet to find anyone even approaching his level to replace him. How many second string goalies has he outlasted? Who has passed through our books while he's been with us? Ben Alnwick, David Button, Jordan Archer, Paolo Gazzaniga, Michel Vorm, Pau Lopez, Joe Hart, and in all likelihood, Gollini to name but eight. He'll be a tough act to follow, and it's a (sporting) crime that he's won nothing with us.

I don’t think we’ve tried to find anyone to replace him in all honesty, the goalkeepers mentioned are homegrown, free or very cheap, purely signed because they’re happy to be #2
I think next year could be the time we sign an eventual successor to Hugo, if it all goes to plan this summer our squad shouldn’t need much tinkering next year so we should have free money.

The over reaction to one mistake looks pretty silly after today!!

Yeah.

He has poor game, like everyone does, but wanting to sell him or other players over a couple of mistakes is crazy when you look at the way they have also performed for us.

Spurs legend and almost impossible to replace. He makes mistakes like all goalkeepers do but I think they are often blow out of proportion. When you think about some of the shite he's had in front of him in our defence over the years, it's remarkable he's stayed as long as he has. We've been lucky to have him

Solid game deserved to get a clean sheet, defense let him down. Thought him rushing off his line to beat iheanacho was brilliant.

Thank God we gave him a contract extension. He is as assured as ever. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him as our first choice keeper until his contract runs out in summer 2024.

Controversial opinion but for me Hugo was MOTM today. He only made I think one save but it was a huge one but jeeze did he show why he is the leader of this team. Some of the balls he collected out of the sky today were phenomenal, he really showed great composure and intelligence to calm things down, I just felt it was the perfect goalkeeping performance. There's always games where a keeper is producing worldies but today but was about him taking responsibility and claiming the ball and stopping Burnley do what they do best which is to create pinball in the box.

Also just read that he was unwell on top of it all. Has been a colossus these past few weeks.

Commands his box better these days, rarely gets it wrong. The save he made in the first half he didn't rush out , tightened the angle and made it difficult.
