I would like to see him and rodon used a lot this year in the cups, conference league, and odd prem match if we can bring in two other cbs. However, I don't think we will see the back of Dier or Davies (who can cover at CB) as well, so if the chances aren't there for him, I think we will move on the two I mentioned over the next few windows, and his spot would open up.

Definitely a player there.

I like him and thought he played well tonight but having him just playing cup games and at RB in a handful of league games won't do him any good - he's at the stage where he needs a full season of first team football under his belt.

If we have Romero (or equivalent), Tomiyasu, Rodon, Dier and perhaps even another CB, that's more than enough cover, and certainly enough players to mean Tanganga very likely won't get regular starts.

As someone else suggested, get him to somewhere like Bournemouth or Fulham - a footballing Championship side that will give him a taste of regular football.

I can see him starting as first choice RB if we continue with 4 at the back or as RCB in a back 3. Tommy will need time to settle and I think would come in as competition initially.

I like him, I think he can play alongside a top class new defender and be really good for us this year. He's been stuck in a "versatile defender" role which really hasn't helped his progress (or the injuries) but he is a really natural defender without too many weaknesses.

Could he be the "cat" CB we need? He's rapid and has always looked strong dealing with the ball behind him

If he had to go on loan (which ITK say we are against unless it is an unreal offer) then it should definitely be Prem level rather than Championship. I think he is as good as any of the defenders we currently have in the squad but if we bring in a couple of nailed on starters then maybe he'd be better developing somewhere for a year with real game time.

Think he’s massively overrated personally

So no worse than any of our other defenders then. It's so hard to judge him or Rodon, both have played in dodgy defences for us and looked pretty decent. If they had been playing alongside a prime Toby and in a confident side I think both would look better.

Japhet wants to stay and fight!
As from few hours ago, Turkey did not apple appeal to him or his family. His family play a very important moral and spiritual role in his life.

A loan to Southampton may be a nice sweetener for our interest in ings.

It's amazing how Southampton hate us, yet want us to help them.

Herc dropping the positive news late in the day. He raved about training with Nuno too, so maybe he sees that his best bet is to stay and develop here. If I was him and looked at our other defenders right now i'd definitely want to stay and fight too.

He's still raw. I'd be concerned about him getting a prem loan and not playing. Don't see where he plays at Burnley or Southampton, for example. Would prefer a top side in the championship where there are more guarantees over pitch time.

Defenders who don’t play never make mistakes. I say the same about Rodon too. Won’t judge them on such a small data sample.
Having said that, he has underwhelmed me as a RB. He seems to play (defend) too narrow for my liking and doesn’t promise much going forward. I do like his aggression stepping up and prefer him at CB based on his limited appearances. A loan with a quality championship side or mid- to lower-level EPL team would be ideal IF we have enough cover without him.

Needs to be playing on a more regular basis and don't see that happening with us next season. Would rather he went out on loan to a Burnley or Southampton and got more game time in the league rather than stay and play the Euro and cup games with us with the odd league appearance.

Been unlucky with injury but will be 23 in under a year and really needs to getting more league games under his belt.
