In both games I think sissoko came over to help, both players have pace which trippier doesn't really have, so I think it helped him know someone could keep up with them if he didn't get the ball.

But that's the point that myself & one or two others have been making for a fairly long time now. When Trippier plays, Sissoko seems to play better, as though he knows exactly what his mandate is. Boss the centre & drop in when necessary to cover Trippier. They have an understanding on that right hand side.

More often than not, it works.

Paolo just lives in this thread to spam people that are negative towards trippier. Paolo I’m sorry to break this to you about what I can only guess is a family member but trippier is a poor poor defender , he’s soft and weak with no desire to tackle or block anything. Bloke just wants to run up and cross balls all game, without any desire to defend.

The biggest problem is that with our system the full (wing) backs need to be pacey. Davies is exposed for the same reason. Rose can do it as he is fast enough. But Trippier just isn't quick enough to play as a wing back in a flat back four.

Completely agree, when Mo went off I would have put Sanchez on or Davies and moved to a back 3.

His defence against Man City’s first goal was pathetic. Didn’t close sterling up and then raised his arm in frustration and blamed Lloris not saving it. Sell him

How about not writing people off after one incident or 45 fucking minutes of football (against a great side) for once?

How many times this season have you implored SC not to write Trippier off? It's a hell of a lot more than once, that's for sure.

We’ve just got into a CL semi final, just enjoy for a bit instead of continually bashing the same player over and over
