I'm not saying we should I'm more asking what can we do? Again we don't really know if this is about money, I'd say it could partly be, but if Walker no longer wants to play for Tottenham, do we simply risk that kind of attitude disrupting what seems to be a very happy camp. I honestly don't think Poch would play him so his stock would just fall over the comin season.

I'd honestly rather he was put on gardening leave, told to stay at home and left to rot, than we be forced to sell him to a premier league rival. But that's taking it to extremes and I honestly don't think it would come to that with Walker.

Look at Modric, he was desperate to go to Chelsea, but we held firm and he came around, had a fantastic season for us and then left for Madrid. For me that was a massive turning point for this club, we stood up for ourselves and made it clear we wouldn't be held to ransom by players or our rivals.

If Walker wants to leave, that's fine, but it should be made crystal clear to him that we will not strengthen a rival.

Now it could be that Walker is desperate to move back to the north, but tough, he signed a contract with us, and is a big boy, I'm sure he will get over it.

Ah... so we should roll over and have our bellies tickled by the bigger boys then?

For the record I haven't mentioned any of the things you brought up, so I'm not denying any of that. My problem is selling players to our direct rivals. It shouldn't happen.
Of course it shouldn't happen! But it does. Unfortunately, it's a financial reality. Your point about Utd never selling a valuable asset to another domestic rival doesn't make sense, because they're at the top of the tree financially, and have been for a long time.

They can compete re transfer fees and player salaries with anyone domestically. Now, when RM came calling for Ronaldo, even Fergie couldn't do anything, except get the best price for him. It's all relative.

Domestically, even Arse had to let go of RVP to Utd because that's where the player wanted to go. We'll deal with any outgoings; we have a chairman who'll maximize the sale price, and a coach who'll make it work on the pitch.

We're punching above our weight big time, considering our finances and salary structure. The players and their agents know that only too well! They'll try and get the best for themselves. Luckily, we have the draw of a great coach, CL, great team and team spirit, the new stadium and financial rewards in the future.

See my above post re Luka Modric.

And Arsenal chose to sell RVP to united. They didn't have to by any means.

Think we have the chairman that understands the strategic game better than anyone. He went through it with Modric, Berba and others. He also understands what the situation is with Kyle Walker better than you or me.

Wasn't my point, and you can have all manner of replacements, good, bad and everywhere in between. It took us a little while to go from the loss of Elvis to get to the Beatles. We're a better team now than when we had Bale. That's down to having a great coach, who's never had the comparative financial resources of Ferguson or Mourinho in the PL.

So it's not all about endless resources then

What if it's Poch that's happy to sell him for £50M? I'm sorry I simply can't put Walker on the same grounding as Walker.

Was his contract not running down and refusing to sign a new contract?

Some Liverpool fans claiming Clyne wants out.
Clyne in place of Walker ? Hasnt had the greatest of seasons, but had his best season with Poch, IMO won't be a bad replacement.

First off I don't believe that's true for a second, and anyway Trippier is better than Clyne IMO and I'd rather give KWP the chance to establish himself as second choice.

I searched 'Clyne' on Twitter and saw you'd liked a tweet from a fake James Pearce account.

haha...Someone retweeted that & I realised it straight away but didnt bother taking out the like because I really liked it...

I was referring to this one, done yesterday

Anycase, I really dont see it. But if it is a possibility am not against it. After Wanyama, I am more inclined to transfer where Poch goes back for one of his old players

Poch would be making a mistake in that case, he is human. TBH it doesn't matter if Poch is happy for him to go, we'd still be strengthening a direct rival.

They could have still said no to United. They got a paltry £20 million for him, Arsenal didn't need that money and could have kept him for another year, or told him they'd only sell abroad. Instead they made a massive blunder by basically handing their main goal threat to a rival, who subsequently won the league because of his goals.

I actually would not be adverse if Man City really do want him swapping him for 25-30 mil plus Raheem Sterling (call me crazy but with silva coming in at man city and sane there) I think they may leave sterling go.

I'd take that deal too but I think he was very much a Pep signing so don't see them moving him on after one season. Will be interesting to see where they all play though.

The more I think about it, would be a great bit of business for us adds what we need pace, dribbling and something different.

But then more I also think about It Man City need all the english players they can get.
