dont understand the notion of selling lucas, we need a big squad, with multiple comps and 5 sub rule, and lucas will be a great squad member, loves the club and good sub option to have to run at tiring legs
I agree, but what I have also noticed during Lucas time here is when he isn't starting, when he gets subbed in, he doesn't look to bothered to be honest. Maybe that's just me, but since Kulu has taken over his spot, I think Lucas' head has sunk slightly..

He's 29 (30 in august) so I think it's the right time to sell.

Disagree with this. He came on against Newcastle and made an instant iMpact with the way he ran at those tired legs and setup Bergwijn. I think he’s a great option to come off the bench and can be used in European games. Would be crazy to sell as he’s 30 in august like you said ,so won’t get anymore than maybe 5m for him? Better to keep him and utilise him.

It's fair enough, might just be me.. If we get lets say Dybala & Eriksen, I don't see a place for him.

Closer to £15-20m I would say..

5 million? Lol. He’d fetch more than that.

it depends how the player feels. I think he’s a decent option to have from the bench but I’d still prefer a higher quality rotation option. Compare it to Liverpool for example, the back ups we have in the forward positions need to be at the same level as the front three. We need to sign a Martinez or Dybala and then maybe sell Moura IMO.

Have to remember at Kulus age he may not keep this form up over a whole season. If he drops off, then what?

Indeed. If we manage to sign Dybala, I just don't see how Lucas would play at all and we would definitely get closer to 15-20 mil or more.

If we get Dybala than fair play we should move him on, but we need to see if we can make that happen first. Can we actually accommodate both kulu and Dybala though? I don’t want us to upset the balance we currently have and kulu has proved he deserves to start most of our games.

It's a luxury-problem. If Dybala displaces Kulusevski because he outperforms him (or the other way around) then that's a shame for the player that misses out, but the team is better for it.
If Kulusevski gets injured I'll argue that we're potentially in deep trouble as Lucas isn't consistent or intelligent enough to support the way we play.

I thought he was lucky with the assist - he had lost the ball at the end of his dribble but it fell kindly for Bergwijn who finished well.

typical spurs fan who cries for quality of squad but doubts how we manage playing time for the players

Only half agree with this . Yes he pushed the ball a bit too far ahead in his dribble so it came within the defender's reach...but then Lucas used his best weapon...speed ...and surprised the defender by getting an unlikely toe to prod it thru to Bergie.

liverpool have 7 front players, salah, mane, firmino, jota, diaz, origi, minamino. Origi and Minamino may be a step down but they played a big part in pool winning the league cup. Of course we need lucas

Assuming we intend to bring in one or two more forwards/attacking players, I'd prefer we got rid of Lucas than Bergwijn if we had to lose one of them.

However, given Bergwijn is probably worth 25-30 million, seems like he wants to leave and already has suiters, I think we'll look to cash in on him with Lucas hanging around as a backup.

Lucas loves the club, always puts a shift in, and is lethal against weaker teams in the cups. He'll end up on the fringes but he'll still have an important role to play next season if he stays.

Can't disagree strongly enough with this - he's one of the most committed players in the squad and always gives 100%, even if he's only on for 5 minutes.

And the goal would still never have happened had Lucas not made the run.

That’s fair. It isn’t what I’m seeing with my eyes since he got dropped though…
