I think this would be a shrewd move. He clearly is very good 1 vs 1 and as we saw with his limited game time last season, he knows where the goal is.

If taking a flyer on him, rather than paying a decent fee for Barnes, allows us to get 2 of Tapsoba/VDV/Tosin in the door then I’m all for it. Would leave meat on the bone for another CM, especially if we sold Hojbjerg.

very true. I've been a Tottenham fan since about 1982 after Ricky Villa's goal. And I mainly read here during these times to check rumors about players. I am one of the most famous fans of Tottenham in Israel and the father of Manor with me in the gym. It's hard for me to write in English and I use a translation. Take it however you like

11 years? Can't believe Romario has gone to such lengths this time...

Incredible commitment. He's really outdone himself.
How many sleeper accounts must this genius have?

Multiple nationalities across multiple years.

Wait, maybe u r all him? Am I him?

I just don’t see how this can be seen as anything other than a shrewd move.

We all ideally want an absolute top class winger to come in but the fact is we have a limited budget and the most vital area for us to improve this summer is the defence.

Signing Solomon on a free should allow us to focus on our defence and hopefully sign a couple of quality CBs.

Meanwhile we get an extremely talented 1 on 1 dribbler with good speed and agility, which we badly lack in our squad. He’s a good fit for Ange system.

Yes he needs to improve, one look at his stats tells you he needs to work on his creativity and passing but he’s 23 years old and he’s had 6 months of gametime to learn the PL.

If he doesn’t prove good enough, we flip him in a year or two for pure profit.

But if he develops under Ange and fulfils the talent he clearly has, we may have a £50m plus player on our hands for nothing.

Happy to take the gamble with this one, as long as we make the most of it by signing quality CBs.

And there I was thinking there's no way the cycling ITK from Arne Slot's brother would be topped throughout this window!

Bravo sir 👏

Also seems like a player that doesn't mind being an impact sub. Was used that way a lot at Shakhtar too.

Useful to have some of that in a squad rather than players who will start kicking off when they aren't starting every game.

Yep he’s young enough not to start every game but he will hopefully prove good enough to be a viable rotation option for Son and possibly Deki (not sure how good he is on the right).

I don’t know too Much about Solomon - but reading the Fulham forums they think William was their best winger by a country mile last season which is a little concerning 🤷‍♂️

I'm not sold tbh, if we do sign him on a free, I get the temptation. However, although he can beat a man, he's the type of player who then goes back to try and beat the same man again or he is sloppy in possession and puts his team mates under pressure. He also struggles with his final ball, so it doesn't matter how good you're at beating your man if you then do nothing with it. Yes he's free and yes Ange may feel he can do something with him. But he would need to show far more than what he has to convince me it's a good addition. Happy to be proved wrong, and I get that Solomon on a free instead of £25m for Danjuma makes sense from the financial side of things so we can focus that money on essential signings. But I'm just not convinced this will turn out brilliantly.

Think he got injured in his first game and was out for most of the season.

You said he’s 100% worth the risk like 2 hours ago

I'm happy to take the risk on a free as he may surprise me. But I equally haven't seen enough so far to believe that risk will work out. It's two completely separate things. If Ange likes him and feels he can work with him, then he's obviously worth the risk. But it doesn't mean I have to rate the lad.

But on a free, what even is the risk?

Absolute worst case scenario, other than a career ending injury, is that he struggles and we sell him on for £10m+ in a few years.
