Story is linked in the replies but behind a paywall.

Shame as I feel Tapsoba would have been transformative.

As an aside from the CB debate, it's another suggestion that Ange is really selling the dream to these players after Maddison's comments.

Makes for a refreshing change having a manager carry this much enthusiasm for the task at hand and getting players to buy into this which bodes very well.

We were heavily linked to la croix, so I'm assuming we have found VDV whilst scouting him.

If we are playing fullbacks who invert, he might also be useful at lb. From what I've read, he's a good progressive ball carrier.

we haven’t got a clue what’s going on behind the scenes and what the plans are so take each move at face value. This is signing an extremely talented, sought after versatile young defender without breaking the bank. That HAS to be good news…whatever else happens this window, that in itself is positive. Take the win people!

The report basically says what the aggregator said plus that we are still to agree a fee
If they've given him permission to come over for talks then we can't be that far away from agreeing a fee so they must be confident of agreeing one with spurs.

not sure it works like that, didn't we agree the personal terms with Raya too?

We did but there was always the vibe that Brentford wanted £40m. News on this one seems more positive in terms of coming to an agreement on the fee. His club aren't shouting about silly figures.

We need both VDV and Tapsoba now, because we cannot rely on Romero long-term. He misses a lot of games, and i wouldn't be surprised to see him agitate for a move next summer.

Let's hope Ange can do the same with Kane.

Nothing groundbreaking... but Kicker Germany are also running the Van de Ven-story now... and they mention a possible fee.

Media reports: Van de Ven agrees terms with Tottenham !

After the sale of Felix Nmecha to Borussia Dortmund, VfL Wolfsburg is said to be on the verge of the next million-transfer: According to consistent media reports in the Netherlands, England and Italy, defender Micky van de Ven has reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur.

Negotiations between the Premier League club and Wolfsburg are now the next step. VfL wants to achieve an even higher transfer fee for the 22-year-old Dutchman than for Nmecha, which cost BVB 30 million euros plus possible bonuses.

Agreed, I guess Conte and Jose inspired similarly due to their reputation and their early enthusiasm, but it feels different with Ange. The big upside to him is that he won't have as much friction in terms of playing style and he's also unlikely to switch into self-preservation/excuses mode when things get tough, he'll be unshakeable in his belief in himself and his methods.

Has anyone considered Ange prefers VdV?
Going by ITK - (Prof I think) he said everyone was on the same page regarding Tapsoba.

Think we need both and as ITK said last night it would be stupid delaying this one waiting for Tapsoba if we are genuinely wanting both.
