This account is usually very good with tactical analysis and I'd never made a stylistic comparison between Walker and VdV but that idea gets me a lot more excited about VdV

This gives the impression that Kyle Walker wasn’t an absolute accident waiting to happen on the ball for large periods of his formative years with us.

There’s a certain Mr SP who might have something to say about that 😂

There was a good period of time where it was his pace to recover from a fuckup that was about the only thing that saved him.

We really should be signing both. For me there's no argument to be had.

Our squad should be:

Vicario, Forster, Porro, Spence, Romero, Tapsoba, Tosin, Van De Ven, Udogie, Bentancur, Bissouma, Sarr, Skipp, Maddison, Scott, Kulusevski, Solomon, Sonny, Richarlison, Kane with a couple of youth players making up the remaining few places for a solid 22 man squad.

I like what you've done there, although if I'm honest I'd rather go for Hatate over Scott. I just think he's the complete package whilst Scott is still a work in progress. I'm not trying to pick holes in it but we also need a second LB. Again if we are being completely greedy then maybe Cirkin would be a good shout as he's HG and club trained.

Also Arsenal are looking at Cancelo for £60m,
No they aren't, this is just being super negative lol
Defence was our biggest issue last season, we let in 65+ goals!

If we are building for now and the future then we absolutely need 3 quality CB’s, it’s really that simple.
The biggest reason why we conceded a lot of goals were Lloris and Forster and they have replaced.

If we are building for now and the future considering Ange doesn't rotate centerbacks especially when we aren't in Europe that's another reason why it's should be one of VdV/Tapsoba and Tosin. With current squad + Solomon we have 20 non-HG players and next season Pape and Udogie will also have to be also registered. And next season there will also be good options to buy
Newcastle have Botman, Schar, Lacelles and Burn who can all play CB and will likely add to that this summer.

3 top CB’s is the minimum we should have.
Before Howe I'm pretty sure you wouldn't describe Schar and Lascelles as top CB's. Romero, VdV/Tapsoba, Tosin and Dier are stronger set of centerbacks

Regarding caps for Netherland, even Sven Botman hasn't made his debut yet. Certain van Dijk standing in their way, and Aké.

If this is mainly lined up I hope we pull the trigger. Quicker we can get someone in and starting to bed in the better.

If it were a choice between getting:

VDV and Tosin
Or
Tapsoba and Lenglet

I’d go the VDV option.

I think he has such a high potential.

I can’t believe that both VDV and Tapsoba want to come to us and that no one else is trying to get them.

we should be buying both as this type of opportunity does not happen often.

It does seem weird we are talking to both, lining up two deals, then we will decide who we want, and no other clubs are supposedly involved.

Its not weird when you consider the asking price, and us not wanting to pay the £60m+ that they want for Topsoba.

I guess it's down to demand?
How many clubs bigger than us are after CB's who aren't shopping at the very top level?

I've got to say that if it does come down to a choice between Ven and Tapsoba, I'm coming round to the idea of Ven.

Obviously, I think we should go all out and sign them both for reasons I've already said but if it HAS to be just one of the two, I'd be pretty happy with the Dutch lad.
Feels like too much potential there to miss this opportunity.

Tapsoba will also be off the the ACN every now and then, which could leave a big hole for a couple of weeks.

You're right his speed did get him out of trouble a la Rio and Ledley in their early careers, but there were also many goals scored against us by opposition players in our right back position, where he was still trotting back from a foray upfield. In that regard only as far as comparison with KW is concerned, VDV from the footage seems to charge back as quickly as he charges forwards.
