havent seen this consistency and calmness in defence since Jan and Toby, much needed addition to our backline, what a player!

Looks a fantastic signing . Early doors so don’t want to go over the top but he seems to have everything in his locker to become a world class defender .

Credit to our manager for trusting him straight away and starting him that first game. I think he had less than a week of training and started vs Brentford and it’s only been upward from there.

We have 2 defenders, it’s hardly an award winning decision lol

You are right though his quality and Ange is brave.

Been chosen by Robbie Mustoe as his underappreciated performer of the week.

Really good analysis and both clearly know what they’re talking about. I wish the channels I watch football on (Sky and TNT sports) had pundits that speak as well about the game as these two. It’s pretty appalling that I genuinely feel more than 50% of the mainstream pundits in English football are numpties

The pundits on sky and tnt seem very lazy to me. None of them really take the time to research the teams their commenting on, or think about anything outside the little bubble of their time in football, or the club they favour. Most of them are big names who played for big clubs and they get by on that alone, whereas someone like Robbie Mustoe will need to actually speak sense and do his homework simply because he’s not a big name.

They have Graeme Le Saux and Lee Dixon on live commentary too who are both excellent. Even though Dixon is a gooner he actually is pretty balanced in his commentary and there is none of the sensational clearly intended to create headlines that you get from the Sky lot.

I can still remember the days of Fox Sports covering the Premier League here in America. Dark, dark days. NBC Sports has been absolutely enormous in growing the popularity of the Premier League here.

I will say in the US we are blessed with our pundants for the most part. NBC got it bang on since the beginning and the only downside is Tim Howard. They tend to be super fair in pre/post/haltime talks. The only thing that is brutal is our commentators, half of them are ex Arsenal or Arsenal fans so whenever we play they just give backhanded compliments all match

I really like Lee Dixon on commentary. Clearly a Gooner but can take the red specs off and has a very dry, subtle sense of humour . I'd rather have him over every one of Sky's offerings.

Was so impressed with him, and I've been so impressed. He was the most consistent player throughout the match for me. So steady and reliable.

ESPN FC pundits are the polar opposites. Make the UK ones look like insightful geniuses. Steve Nicol is a parody. Craig Burley looks like he’s genuinely pissed when they tape. Shaka Hislop accidentally will say something smart once every three months, and the guy who hosts their shows is a fatuous chuckle monkey.
