Has shown lately just how excellent a footballer he can be and is looking a lot more like the player he was at Fulham, just hoping he can gain the consistency that has eluded him to date in a Spurs shirt.

From not shooting anywhere near enough to smashing one in with the wrong foot in the dying minutes. Hoping he puts in a similar performance against the scum!

Like a new signing for us but he needs to keep it up for the rest of the season, keep improving and not fall into old ways.
I think he is really enjoying his football right now.

I just said in the ratings thread it's like the penny has finally dropped with him.

It's no use beating players for the sake of it if there's no purpose to it and boy is he playing with purpose right now!

He looks a lot leaner and fitter this season but still amazingly strong on the ball and winning the ball back.
Great midfield 2 with dier and dembele

It's nice to see him play like this on a consistent basis. He always had the talent, but he didn't do it often enough. Poch has definitely got him working hard and he looks so much fitter, getting about the pitch a lot more.

Dembele is an absolute beast!
Effortless on the ball, he just glides past players - jeez, even hardened midfielders can't get a foot in!
IMO Having the likes of Dier and Alli around him have really given him the confidence to push on - and man am i glad, he's like a brand new signing!!

I just think a lot of it is down to him being properly fit and injury free.

Agree with that as well!
....but having someone like Dier in that DM role must put him at ease when going forward

Won't argue with that. I think he may well end up being our player of the season. He seems to gain in confidence with every game he plays.

The tougher they play against him, the meaner he gets. You could see in the first 15 today when they were trying to outmuscle him that he wasn't gonna take that shit

Wow, a few pages back I had slagged him off, mostly because of his inconsistency throughout his Spurs career, I knew he had it in him but he frustrated the hell out of me. It's as if the beast has awoken and now he's thriving with the rest of the Spurs squad. It's as if they're all fighting for each other like brothers. Dembele along with Vertonghen are some of our most experienced players and are stepping it up to a level I've not seen before, a great example they're setting. Dembele has been fantastic, long may it continue
