The guy was everywhere tonight in my view and from what I was watching

I don’t think he had a bad game by any means, but he is definitely hanging on to the ball too long again for me like he did when Poch first arrived.

Any chance he's gone in January? At this point he's just blocking Winks development. Would rather see Dele in that spot as well.

He's just past it.

I love the guy but there is no way he should be selected for any other big games in future. Consistently proven to be off the pace.

I truly don't see him serving a purpose to start any game. Can't keep up with the top teams anymore and is too passive against the teams that will sit back. So frustrating we didn't get his replacement this summer.

Never seen what others see in Dembele.
Great at fending off /wrestle matches in the centre circle and wondrous dribbles to nowhere but so little end product.
Now he's learning from Dier the art of strolling and seems to be another target of whoever is putting lead in Kane's boots

He's been written off before and run into some form but this time it really does feel like its coming to an end with us. He'll be gone if not in Jan then the summer

I know it’s in fashion to assume we’ll never sign a player ever again but I’ll be amazed if he doesn’t move on in January and we sign a new CM.

He’s getting in the way too of a fantastic young CM in Winks who needs to be playing week in week out. Every week he’s getting better and more confident, he’s the future and could save us a fortune if we start relying on him now.

That looked like an ankle sprain, didn't it?

Let hope it was just a second grade one, a third grade and that was probably the last we saw of him on a Spurs shirt.

I love the guy, but I can't help but think that his boat turn has been sussed, and he sadly can't run for more than an hour. I thought he was most effective coming on as a sub, to help kill a game off when we're winning. That being said, I still go mental every time he smashes straight through an opponent!

I don't think he is getting in winks way, Wink is our only fit CM we play so many games there is room for both to play 1-2 times a week. TBH I like dembele hope he can get fit, but long term (maybe this january) we need to replace Victor, Sissioko and Mousa, bring though Skip and another couple of mids would be good.

Article in the Times saying out for 6 weeks

Sounds about right

It's been abundantly clear for a while that we need to prioritise a long term replacement for him, and whoever that is, is not coming cheap.

Arguably the single most important factor in our (in my opinion) best team of recent times - the 2016/17 team on the second half of the season - was the extraordinary base provided by our CMs: Dembele and Wanyama.

No one really knows what's happened to Vic, but sad as it is, Dembele's on the down swing and needs to be properly replaced.

Is anyone surprised? Last season was a season too far for him, it was always going to happen that he'd get an injury this season.

It's still quite remarkable that we didn't sign a CM last summer. It's also remarkable that we have amassed the points we have without a CM.

Let's hope Winks stays fit, continues to perform, and Wanyama / Dier can return and find some form.

Hope we do. Genuinely one of the best players I've ever seen.
All good things must come to an end. He was absolutely one of the best, but he's so clearly past it in terms of fitness for the top level. Given that we haven't brought in a successor to start taking over I'm really hoping they think Winks can do it.
