Does seem a bit odd that neither Bentaleb nor Mason have had any game time (even 20 mins from the bench) when they are supposed to be back in full training.

If it's nothing suspicious and just Poch not rushing them back then I think he's being too cautious. Dier is in need of a rest and shouldn't be anywhere near the team on Wednesday.

NEWS From the UK - Jovetic in Tottenham, Inter advanced Bentaleb
18/01/2016 14:59 Christian Liotta

If Tottenham were to actually realize their interest inStevan Jovetic , the Montenegrin Inter could exchange with the young French-AlgerianNabil Bentaleb , according to rumors reported by the British press. Bentaleb, after an ankle injury has lost the starting spot in the team , Mauricio Pochettino, who put him on the edge of the rose, the fly would grasp any opportunity that Roberto Mancini would offer according to newspapers across the Channel........

Love it. Title says something about being advanced, the article says nothing of the sort, then states "IF Tottenham were to actually realise their interest" (that's the correct way to spell realise, no Z!) and appears to believe Bentaleb has been perched on the edge of a Rose by Pochettino. Thankfully there's a fly somewhere that will grasp an opportunity to work with Mancini. I guess that means we don't need to worry about Bentaleb going there then!

One thing I will say is that lamela dropped off the radar once too, with no word from the club. It leaves you to fill in the blanks, and probably, come to the wrong conclusions.

Spurs are notoriously shit at releasing information about injuries (it was almost an entire season before they officially stated what was wrong with lamela!).

Bentaleb is probably just still injured/lacking fitness. He has a tremendous amount of talent (something that seems to have been forgotten on here by some). Even if he does have an attitude problem, that is something that can be coached out of a 20 year old.

We may play another 30 games plus this season if we stay in the cups. Players like Bentaleb may be crucial and a key starter for many of those. Things can change quickly with knocks, injuries and form. It's good that neither he nor Mason have much game time and may be really fresh in the engine room for crucial games later on.
