He's better technically than he's given credit for. At one point in the first half he received the ball just in front of the defence under a lot of pressure from the press and in a very dangerous area. He roled him and dribbled away.

Love him.

Not old enough but thank god for technology!

I can see what you are saying (goal at 4:10).

Cheers for that, I was at that game and also the 2nd leg at the San Siro. AC went down to 10 men after a sending off in the 1st leg (not shown), which made all the difference in allowing Steve Perryman the space to get forward.

Our season started and ended at Wolves that season.

Turns and goes forward a lot. Its one of his most redeeming qualities imo.

That’s the goal which caused me to mention the Perryman/Skipp resemblance, as well as the hustling bustling midfield donkey work.
I was there at WHL that night.
It was so busy at that time, we played Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Bank Holiday Monday before that Wednesday semi final- 4 games in 6 days and I was at all of them.

We are caught betwixt and between a little sometimes. Not at the echelon to afford and attract the very top available players but good enough that it can be difficult for some of our young players to get the playing time to really flourish.

So glad to see Skipp get back to his pre injury form and have the chance to launch himself even further forward. It has served to highlight whether Conte should have been rotating more in CM from earlier in the season, given how Skipp and Sarr have performed these last few weeks

Said it all along this lad is quality. He is so good defensively too. Whenever a team breaks he is always in the right position so they never have an easy pass into a dangerous area, he always gives them the most difficult option to continue the move, or he takes the ball off them and moves it on. As a young DM there really aren’t many better at all
It's not a coincidence we've improved defensively as a unit with him in the team

This is like the second coming for him having broken into the team and then got laid up for so long. The mental fortitude to go away on loan to prove yourself, and then come back to the club and prove yourself, and then get injured and have to prove yourself again...at only 22. Legend. Can't be many better feelings after that than to bang in a screamer at home as a winner in a derby like this for your first goal having spent his whole life watching us get tonked by these twats.

I hope that he stays fit for the next few years and really cements his place in the squad for the future now.

If I remember correctly, Martin Chivers played @ 64 games that long old season!

Similar to you, I recall going to Milan (home) midweek, West Brom (away), Chelsea (home), Milan (away) then Southampton (away) all within @ 10 days. (All while living in Manchester).

Great memories TCO.

Great post-match interview with him pitchside on MOTD2. Spoke intelligently about the tactics for the game.

Weird how football works.

Last January Bentancur signs and goes into team as Skipp injured.

This February, Bentancur gets injured allowing Skipp to take his place back!
