He's one of the best we have in that holding role. I was shocked that Sarr played there at Newcastle. His last ditch challenge late against Utd is what he does so well. He shouldn't be pushed forward although he shows great appetite to attack, he doesn't have the final ball. If he sticks to that deeper role he's a great option. If we go 3 in midfield I can see him being a starter there. I think Bissouma and Bentancur would really benefit with a bit of license to push on.
It was so odd that Sarr was sitting deep and Skipp was the one furthest up the pitch. Almost like Stellini went out of his way to play all three midfielders to their weaknesses.

Skipp, very much like Bentancur and Bissouma has been hamstrung by the systems played by conte, and Conte Lite Stellini.
All are good players, all are better than they are allowed to be due to the setup and instructions of the managers.
Bentancur, many will argue has been good for us, but I firmly believe he is better than he has shown.
Skipp has good attributes and the natural ability to be in the right place at the right time defensively

I think he’s class and should be given the opportunity to become part of the spine of the team.

He hasn’t even been partnered with Bentancur or Bissouma yet to really show what he can do.

He's a very good defensive midfielder who also is very capable of decisive forward passing and also direct assists.

And he has strong mentality and will keep fighting and showing passion.

He leads with his feet and his actions on the pitch. Doesn’t need any of the pointing, hollering or arm waving like some of the others because he’s actually capable of leading by example, which is the peak of leadership and everyone knows it

Also has good positional sense not charging out the wings. Well worth a squad place and see how he develops. Ideally we lose hojbjerg and bring in a good creative mid with some mobility.

Happy with him as a back-up option in the squad - good fighter, solid technically but not really seen anything from him that suggests he's a top 4 class midfielder.

agree with this, good squad option, as a starter for a top 4 team not so sure
He's 22.
Nobody wants us to pin all of our hopes and future plans on him but he's nowhere near as bad as some make out in here.
He's one for the future and if he can keep up the progression he's shown in the last couple of seasons, there's really no reason to doubt that he can become an important player for us.

How many top four teams have a 22 year old starter in such an important position?
Just give the lad the chance to learn and grow before making statements like "he's not good enough" because he's already shown more than many of our senior players.

He's ok...but when I compare him to the likes of Ibrahim Sangare he's quite a way behind imo. That said, I think its impossible to truly judge based of this horror of a season..

Controversially, (I know many won't agree)I actually think he's behind Sarr talent wise.

Has not been helped playing alongside PEH, love to see him get more time beside Bentantcur. He is still young, esp for a mid, needs more time, much rather see him as the future than PEH.

Why hasn’t the club reported Jota to the police for assult? Is clearly an intentional kick to the head.
