Winks would have driven Ange crazy…..The video of Ange screaming to pass it forwards. I could imagine Ange would go grey overnight.

He’s playing as a defensive midfielder, so goals and assists aren’t all that important. Point is, he’s doing incredibly well and we’re he an unknown, PL teams would be very interested.

For some reason I watched most of the game leicester played v Birmingham and he wasn't good imo

When Skippy was getting regular football he was very good for us. He has been in and out and people expect him to pull up trees. Over the next few games I am confident he will remind us how good he really is.

In an ideal world he would be on loan this season getting starts. I hope he at least gets a good run while Biss and Sarr are away.

If Winks had never played for Spurs before, his performances for Leicester would have caught the eye.
The eye of who? Maybe Palace or something but for Anges midfield with top 4 aspirations no chance.

Chuffed for winks hes doing well though, cant have been much fun getting relegted with Sampdoria but this Leicester team are doing well and look forward to seeing him hopefully starting for them in the prem next season.

I don’t think he’s ever been ‘very good for us’ and a regular run in the team won’t make a squat of difference, the guy gives the ball away far too often, is slow, his touch is average at best.

Sure ill get behind him whenever he plays but I just don’t think he’s technically good enough, Winks was a far better player and he wasn’t really good enough for where we want to be.

I think it's a reach to call his performances with Leicester as playing "incredibly well". He's been solid, but nothing exceptional.

He'll be 28 moving into next season. If PL teams were actually "very interested" in his performances, I think it would be in the context of being a usable home grown squad option, which is where I think the majority feel his standing already is. I really don't think much has changed at all with Winks to be fair.

Championship is a massive drop down from the Premier League and a totally different tempo. The league is relentless now and you have to be a lot more press resistant. I'm not sure either Winks or Skipp are good enough to play at this level in this particular league. Skipp is still young but you look at how far Sarr has come or others his age and younger. I have my doubts he'll make it with us but could see him taking on another league. For now if he covers as a 6 you can't really ask for much better quality where essentially he would be 3rd choice for that position. Then depending whether we keep Lo Celso and replace Hojbjerg we might not have a need for him next season. You could argue a 6th central midfielder spot would be better taken by an academy prospect.

I'm pretty hard on skipp, I can't quite see what he can offer, in terms of attacking football, outside of being g busy.

That being said, he was really good v Everton, happy for the lad.

Here's an interesting question.

Is Skipp better than Winks?

I don’t think he has hit the highs Winks occasionally hit early in his career at Spurs.

I don’t think Skipp has ever really shown that he could become a first choice here whereas, weird as it may seem now, a lot of people thought Winks could become something special.

Pre injury, Winks was looking special. England caps and a dynamic, dribbling, passing box to box 8 or 6. Came back from the injury a different player.

Was about to say it's important to mention how good Winks was pre injury. He bossed Real Madrid away. He had all the potential.

His commitment can never be questioned and I love that he's one of our own but I just think long term he isn't and won't ever be good enough if we want to take the squad to the next level. When all the squad are fit, I don't even have him making the matchday squad. And the case for him making the squad becomes even more difficult when we replace PEH with someone Ange wants. He's a much better player than Winks or Carroll for example and I do think he can cut it in the Prem, I just don't see him being in a matchday squad for a team trying to compete.

How many PL winners medals does John O’Shea have?

People are way too harsh on Skipp. He is solid, works hard and keep his head down.
I think he has a role to play for us tbh.

Don't we need a couple guys who are okay being squad players because they are real pros and have a connection with the club versus maybe a more talented player who will become toxic when they aren't getting enough game time?

I view Skipp similar to Davies. They may not be standouts but they help fill out a squad reliably.
