Its going to be an interesting 5 months for Sarr. It's very likely that he will make the Senegalese squad for the WCup, as he's been earmarked as one for the future. Though he doesn't start regularly for Senegal ( 7 caps so far), he does usually make the squad and is on the bench for majority of their games.

I think the idea of keeping him around Conte until January makes a ton of sense. It would allow him that time to get up to speed with Conte's system, learn from Yves, Pierre and Rodrigo and feature in the occasional league or cup game ( not including CL) and very likely go to the WC. Also, with the WC, I have a feeling that the loan market will be very active in January, given that players will likely get injured mid-tournament and teams will need additional recruitment to see them through the remainder of their respective season. At that point, there would more interesting options in terms of clubs that might need a CM to step in.

Also, pretty cool to see Yves and Pape kicking the ball around. Bissouma is the perfect player for Pape to learn from and model his game after.

Bit of confusion over the translation. Twitter translate says we offered him on loan to Milan but Sarr isn't interested

Deepl says we offered him on loan to Milan but Milan aren't interested:

? #Tottenham have offered #Sarr on loan but, at the moment, the young midfielder is not of interest to the Rossoneri @cmdotcom

I would love for him to get a premier league loan, or worst case a very good championship team.

It would prove if he can play in English football. I think conte doubts he can do that.
What makes you think Conte doubts he can do that.

I’ve taken to that lad and really hope we keep him or get him an amazing loan with no options.

Have we had a single proper interview with Sarr?

Don’t think anything was done last year as he was still on loan, but surprised that we haven’t heard from him this pre-season (albeit probably in translated french).

Surprised Scotty Parker hasn’t been contacted for some of our lads.

I think it would be good for him to stick around the first team at least until January. I'd want him to feel like he's part of the club.

It's fairly telling that Romero and Hojbjerg have stayed on when tanganga and Sarr are on the bench. I think that means the two of them are close to being off on loan.

Not great seeing that Skipp picked up another knock and I can see Sarr staying around this season, just in case we need additional CM cover.

Just that Conte seems reluctant to trust playing him in the first team so far. We will see if that changes this upcoming season.
We've only had three preseason friendlies and he has played in them hasn't he? I don't suppose Conte thinks he's first choice for the first team but I don't know how you deduce that Conte is reluctant about anything.

Sorry but I have to pick you up on this. Sarr was loaned out for the season before Conte joined. We've had three first team friendlies this pre-season and he has played in all of them. Do you think Conte should be starting him ahead of Skipp, Hojbjerg, Bissouma and Bentancur, at 19 years old in his first pre-season with us?

Sarr is an interesting one. Off the pitch he looks like a skinny fifteen year old schoolboy. On the pitch he has the presence of a young Vieira or Toure to me and looks very athletic if a bit lanky. There's something about this kid.

I’m definitely going to keep a keen eye on him this season whether he stays with us or goes out on loan. We’ve got 4 great senior CM’s now but with Sarr and Devine the future looks very bright as well. We’ve got Hojbjerg (26), Bentancur (25), Bissouma (25) and Skipp (21) who will all likely get better too. Should be a very strong position for us now long term

Agreed. Of all of the players compared to Vieira over the years, he is the one, for me, most similar in his on the field gait and play. It's interesting that Milan, who messed up by selling Vieira early, want Sarr on loan. I'd be HIGHLY disappointed if they got an option to buy.

No I don't think that at all. I didn't say that

You actually said …

“…Conte seems reluctant to trust playing him in the first team so far.”

… when he’s played in every first team game since he’s been back from his loan (that happened before Conte took over as manager). The only thing Conte could have done to satisfy you is pick Sarr ahead of Højbjerg, Bissouma, Skipp or Bentancur. But you’re not saying that. I actually don’t know what you are saying as so far it has been pretty nonsensical.
