Richarlison, Porro already been written off. It's pathetic.

See also Skipp, Emerson, Kulusevski, Kane, berbatov, modric, Bale, Carrick, Walker, Toby. The list goes on and on and on. And that's just over the last 15 years!

I think in a dynamic team on the attack he will prove to be an asset going forward.

As a defender, the jury's out.

Early days.

Literally. Look at the chelsea game and the linking play Kulu Emerson and Romero, there was zero of that last night because Moura just wants to turn and run everytime and Sanchez just hasn’t got that ability and just didn’t even want to.
Porro impressed with some of his link play and ability to pass and move and put him i between Kulu and Romero who are excellent at that you’ll see a much different porro. Plus factor in Romero behind you sweeping up it’ll keep things moving forward

He’s a young guy who only recently converted from an inside forward on the left to a wing back on the right. He’s an attacking wing back and his learning the defensive side

I'm missing something but thought he done fine?

Good pace, technically good, couple of good runs in behind.

The first touch was incredible for the goal and took him away so not on him. Thats on Sanchez. Just watch him for the goal
Yeah think the criticism is way OTT.

He was a bit weak in a few 1v1 situations but not a total disaster and, as you say, there were about 4 players to blame for their goal. Sanchez was poor but watch Hojbjerg too - he's so afraid of giving away a pen he basically jumps out of the way of the player and gives him a free run.

Going forward he looked like one of our brightest players and there were some very promising moments when he either beat his man or came infield to try and link-up the play. With more intelligent players around him like Kane and Kulu he could've got in on goal once or twice.

Needs to improve defensively but that's not the main reason we bought him and I think there's clearly a lot of attacking talent there if we can get it out of him.

Exactly. How good do people expect a former left winger to be at wing back defensively when they only recently converted

Not worried.

Look at Zinchenko, Dalot, Cancelo, etc...

They're smaller fullbacks that were absolutely fine once they adapted to the league - Porro has the quality to do the same.

Let's not judge him after 2 games when he's playing alongside Sanchez and Tanganga FFS.

This is one of the reasons why its frustrating to watch him have to play next to Sanchez and Tanganga.

There were a couple of crossfield attacking passes switching play from one flank to another while driving the attack forward that we’re straight out of the Conte playbook and beautifully executed. I can see why we wanted him, fits the system of play very well. Just needs time.

He wasn't great last night, but next time Romero is either rested/injured/suspended I'd much rather go with Emerson at RCB and Porro at RWB than have Sanchez and Porro next to each other. Neither are particularly solid defensively, which for Sanchez says a lot as it's the only fucking thing he has to do.

I’m with you. I thought he was positive, wanted the ball and got stuck in when needed. Liked his rabble rousing of the crowd too.
Given how badly his debut went, I thought this showed a good mentality - some of the others (Son, Richarlison, Sanchez) could have done with following suit.

I think we can see signs that there is a player in there. He’s got decent speed, technically some of his passing and crossing looks excellent and he’s clearly a creative player in the final third.

Defensively he looks really weak. Positioning, decision making and anticipation etc don’t worry me too much yet as I believe players with desire can learn these things as they develop but his actual 1 on 1 defending troubles me, hopefully he can improve here.

We should also consider he’s played next to Tanganga and Sanchez in teams who put in collectively disastrous performances.

My single biggest concern is whether we can get him functioning as a RB in a back 4 because this back 3 system needs to burn in hell when Conte inevitably leaves.

Just play him next to Romero. For Christ sake, we cannot ever sit Romero.

Kyle Walker would look atrocious if he had to cover for and then get “passes” from Sanchez or Tanganga.

If for some godforsaken reason we ever have to sit Romero, we must go to a back 4 and have Emerson at RB. Play 4-4-2 and have Porro as the Right wing.

of course if we’d have simply not cut Doherty for no reason we’d be able to play 3 at the back with Emerson as RCB and still have RWB depth as needed. We should have cut Sanchez or Moura or Ivan.

I thought he was sidelined a bit last night and not used enough, certainly in the first half but he started to assert himself as the game went on and was trying to drive the team on. Absolutely no doubt he would have had a better game alongside Romero but that's on the manager.

Remember when people here were desperate to get him in for the Arsenal game, calling Levy tight and going ballistic when it didn't happen?

The guy needs time. If he'd played against Arsenal the result would have been even worse. I'm sure he'll turn out to be excellent, but please people calm down.

I don't see how you could link play with Moura, Son and Richarlison it’s just not a strength of their games.
