We’ve signed the best player available for one of our weakest areas. Rare for us that’s probably why it feels so nice lol

Not so rare these days, Bentancur and kulusevski in hindsight.... but I would argue Bissouma and Richarlison as well at the time were the best we could get. Peresic also even if it's not turned out so well.

Since Paratici has come in we have really been going for the best. The only real exceptions are Danjuma and Lenglet of the first team players, but both are loans anyway. I also believe both were signed because are main targets were unavailable.

We also almost managed to get Diaz who is class. Not surprising Liverpools decline has coincided with his injury.

What these signings have done they have made us realise what a crap squad we actually had to begin with.

Yep just a proper quality player. Same as when we tried to sign Bruno Fernandes, big shame we didn’t but yea this lad is clearly a baller and seems to have a great determined attitude

I look forward to see Levys face on Sunday after getting this deal done and still hearing Levy out chants.

I don't know the ins and outs of this deal and why intermediaries were involved at all. It does kind of feel like if you have an important player for a Conte team who he wants and you really want to back him you don't drag it this long. I really think to get this and Zaniolo done early this month would have shown true backing for Conte. I don't mind deals dragging if they're not this important but always feels like missed opportunities to let it run. He could have played a few games already. People will talk about Conte not extending but these are some of the reasons he hasn't I'm sure.

Looks like a great signing though and if we get Hincapie that's a strong January. Keep it up in the summer and I'll take my hat off to Levy because it would mean he's finally delivering a squad to challenge. I suspect we will drag more deals along in future too but hopefully they won't always be important first team ones.

I think Levy will be naive enough to think that with the 2 he has signed but the fans will get off his back now and that he eill get an easy ride for a while.
I hope he doesn't as I feel it's only a 6 rated window even though I'm delighted with Porro.
We still in dire need for atleast a CB this window but I think it's very unlikely now.
