Exactly what I am thinking. I have not seen a commanding display or a modicum of the skillet that Lloris demonstrates. It just feels like he is a Gazzaniga mk2.

No doubt he is planned to be the chosen Lloris replacement but isn’t exuding a commanding presence at this early stage.

Only strength so far has been with the ball at his feet which has never been Lloris strong point but if he is not at least on a par or pushing for a start in the league by January then we should really be looking at a new contract for Hugo

I think that the problem is that some people feel that they're capable of making a professional judgment on a player fairly quickly and many seem incredulous that the coaching staff don't seem to share their capabilities. Football is an opinions based business - always has been and there's no reason why people shouldn't be able to share an opinion, even if it's as crass as saying that a player is 'shit'. It just needs to be taken in the context of the fact that despite having incredible perception and unrecognised coaching ability, most wouldn't be able to manage a Sunday league side, let alone a premier League one.

Not just today, he hasn’t been assured in his other fixtures either - but like I say early days, right now he doesn’t fill me with confidence.

He doesn’t dive. He seems to get rooted far too often. It’s been a recurring theme of the games he has gotten for us so far.
