He calms things down by not rushing things but their goal today came from him delaying until the only option was a pass that wasn't on.
Part of his calming down though is he simply doesn’t have the vision / picture in his head about what he wants to do with the ball so has to slow things down

Its clear Ange doesn’t see him as part of the LT so its a question of getting a reasonable fee, PEH also being realistic about his level and the sort of club he could go to (Fulham is exactly his level) and moving on with a thank you for being an excellent pro but limited player

I don’t think it’s about the “level” with PEH - I think he can still play at a high level. It is more about the tactical fit and style of football.

PEH is not a bad player.

It does feel like it's time to move him on.

Okay player. Just not a right fit for us now

Absolutely this. He’ll fit in well under Simeone for example, but he won’t suit a team that needs quick decision making and precise passing from all their midfielders like Us, City, Arsenal etc.

We could get a better fit for the same amount we receive from the sale. I don’t think we should keep any player for the sake of it. Everyone, including the depth should be a perfect fit for our system.

Quite simply he isn't the type of player we need now. He isn't quick enough in the passes to play the way we do. Much like Skipp, they amble on the ball & haven't got the athleticism of someone like Sarr to burst away from the opposing player.
Personally I would offer a loan deal with option for Kalvin Phillips. He will definitely get game time with us, especially so during the AFCON.

Very few of the best teams in this country at least play the sort of football that suits him though so it automatically becomes about the level he can play at

no surprise teams like Juve or Atletico seem linked with him as the main abroad options

Right - but both Juve and Atletico are several levels ahead of Fulham. So it’s not about level, as much as it is about style.

Not to have a big debate but it’s a very limited pool of teams we are talking about at a “higher level” that would want him - specifically two abroad known for successful but v defensive football - and by all accounts any bids they they may have made haven’t been at the right level

my point is simply that Fulham would not be the huge step down relative to his abilities it was implied last summer when they made a decent bid and if that’s the level of credible offer he gets again and if Atletico keep offering well below his value he should consider it a lot more seriously than last summer

I don't think he'd fit into the way Fulham are playing these days. They're playing fluid attacking football and he ain't that

He's our only 6 left standing. Skipp, Hoijberg and Sarr. That's it for our midfield.

And we lose Sarr soon as well. We're in deep shit, we may need to sign a CM in January

We're in the poop big time. Never seen a season like it for injuries and suspensions.

Sarr
Biss
Maddisson
GLC
Bentacur

Even if you don't rate him and you prefer those listed above him he's a bloody good player to have as a sixth choice midfielder.

Better than Skipp and should have come on for Johnson. You have to question GLC and his love of an injury and whether Biss can control his temper going forward but Holjberg is going to get some food minutes for the next couple of months.

I think Sarr is one booking away from a suspension as well, hopefully he gets it in the Bournemouth game

Gonna be in the team for the next few weeks, people need to get behind him because we need him.
