Completely underwhelmed I’m afraid . Spends most of the time on the floor holding his leg . If he is a number 9 then he is only going to be effective when Kane is out. I hope he proves me wrong but at £60m I was expecting a lot more .

I wasn't. He is playing exactly like he did at Everton. It was always a lot of money but it is early days.

He's mostly played put of position due to the unlikely event that Moura and Kulusevski have both been out. On the plus side it has kept him involved and we've been winning games. It's just a shame he's injured as really could have done with starting him up top in the Carabao Cup and final CL game if we're qualified. Maybe he will still be back for those

Wow some of these posts. Writing a guy off and the clocks haven't even gone back yet.

New club, new coach/style of play, new team-mates, not his ideal position but nah he's not worth £60m/should've signed Jesus.

Wonder how many of these also wrote off Bale/Modric/Kane/Dembele after their first 10 matches.

Kane or possibly Son understudy - should not/ can not play in a 3 with them.

Kulu needs to play right side

Richarlison came off the bench first 2 games and was effective in putting himself about and people clamoured for him to be in team

Conte then rested Kulu and we have not had same attacking verve since

People on here were writing of Deki after 2 20min appearances!! Safe to say a lot know sweet FA.
Richarlison tenacity has been pivotal in a few of our games, without such we may not have won/drew (eg Chelsea)

We've all watched Richarlison for 3 or 4 years so we know what he is. I am not writing him off.

Nobody thinks he's playing particularly badly or doing anything differently from what he did at Everton I don't think

I am sure when he returns from his injury the same things will happen, he'll run around a lot, create some chaos in the box, fuck up some moves, fall over randomly, win some freekicks, get on the end of chances and probably score just under his xG. He will score about 10ish goals this season in the league.

Decent player and a good fit for the squad as a whole but overpaid massively. I understand the reasons why that happened though.

I suspect we'd see a different player when (or if) he becomes the focal point of our attack. But right now, as a part of the team, in the position he's being asked to play and under the instructions that entails, he's doing OK.

Watch the Fulham game where he played wide right until late in the game when Kane went off He seemed pretty good that day. I am not saying he is worth 60M or will be a great success with us, just that he needs more time in our system before we can fully judge. Wouldn't mind seeing him up top with Kane in 5-3-2 (3-5-2).

Surprised by some of the negativity about the guy in here so early in tenure. He got thrown into the mix from the get go rather than being bedded in. 60M is a big price tag and saying he hasn't been man enough this early, is well, premature emasculation.
  • When he is on the pitch, the overall intensity of the players tends to pick up. There aren't too many players whose energy sets the tempo for the rest of the team.
  • His very existence means that we can be less dependent on Kane which has benefits both in terms of player rotation and potential injury. That has been one of the biggest concerns we have all had.
  • The tactical flexibility we will have once he and other players returns from injury will be exceptional because he does so many things well. He is a starter on just about any team in the Premier League, it's just that that is arguably our strongest position.
As for going for Jesus or some of the others, i'm not sure some of these guys are Conte type players in terms of physicality or mentality. Richarlson seems to me to be the poster child for an AC player. Wears his heart on the sleeve, gives his all for the team, willing to do whatever it takes. yes, it is easy to hate how strong a pull gravity seems to have on him as well as his low threshold of pain but he has been a great addition to the team.

Hopefully we beat Sporting and have him back for Marseille then. It would be great if he can start that and the Carabao Cup game so we can rest Kane.

So realistically back for Liverpool at home then which is a little under 3 weeks away. Massive for him, as you'd imagine he would want to get a couple of games under his belt (even as a sub) before the World Cup.

Good news, all things considered.

Great news on his injury. While Richy may not have scored much, he causes complete chaos, brings urgency, fight and an air of arrogance. To play for Brazil you are some player and that brings great experience. His shithousery alone is an asset to the squad. He is a very important part of this team, and the lack of goals (so far) masks what he's bringing to THFC. V happy to have him.
