Good news about the injury.
My preference would to perhaps start him on the bench or rotate him with Son so that we could play with the 3 in the midfield, and then that would give us a serious attacking option from the bench. But what do I know.

I think he is most impactful for us a sub and the occasional rotation, he might not be a fan of it but he seems to have a much bigger impact when he is not starting 2 games a week, the intensity he brings vs tired legs is extremely advantageous. Very happy to have a player of his quality provide depth to be honest. I think the dynamic of Kulu Kane and Son is damn near perfect and I love the 3-5-2 personally, I think Richarlison starting is a 3rd choice approach and I think we're extremely fortunate to have these kind of high levels variables.

Blimey I’m surprised it’s so minor given how he was struggling to walk.
Maybe some kind of spasm or muscle seizure which has since eased up.
Either way, good news.

I won't be surprised if he does not start a game for us before the WC. I can see him being a bench option in a couple of weeks, but can also see him wary of trying to get back too early, and risk aggravating the injury.

This is one of the shit things with a winter World Cup.

My hope is that Conte, who normally puts a lot of pressure on the medical staff will make sure that he will play as soon as he is available. i.e. not to take an unnecessary risk, but that he should come back into action at the exact same time he would in a normal season.

For those who don't speak Portuguese

"Fuck me, thought I'd done me calf proppa. Tony put me straight, told me I was being a pansy and just whack a bit of Deep Heat on it. I'll see you slags on Wensdy."

Any chance he will be back in the squad for Liverpool at the weekend?
Not trying to be harsh. But if we are going back to him being 2nd choice for the RWF role I’m really not that fussed when he’s back.

On the flip side, if we are going to start playing him at CF or maybe LWF then I hope he’s back soon

It’s more about having options. Options to rotate or change in game. Severely lacking that right now.

Trouble is I imagine he's going to be a bit reluctant with the world cup so close. I can't see world cup players taking any chances. It would be good to have him on the bench though. Kulusevski might be back sooner with no world cup for him.
