The real test will come in a game where we have less of the ball such as Chelsea. However, did look sharp
Yeah I think the city game when we have no ball and get properly pressed. See how he copes with it.

Looked very calm and at ease with the ball. Given the very short time he’s been here I was pleasantly impressed…

Looks a bargain based on that cameo. He was seriously everywhere, but seemed to glide around, always nicking the ball away, moving it well. It just felt like he’s what we’ve been missing in the middle, so fingers crossed he goes from strength to strength.

Refreshing isn't it? Finally we are not waiting for like 3 months for newly signed players to acclimatise and peak their fitness until they suffered an injury doing that.
I’ll stick my neck out and say Paratici has improved the squad with two ready made first teamers while managing to clear the decks of those that may have blocked their progression. There was a new found freedom in the play yesterday, I think anyway.

Exactly the type of player I’ve grown up liking. He’s certainly our Brozovic, Carrick, Busquets. And if he can reach the levels anywhere near those guys, then we have a top player on our hands. I remember the amount of headers Carrick cleared at the near post from corners and crosses, this guy is the same build and has already won two headers of note. Things like that massively help the team.

Strange to get such an accomplished player for such a low price unless there was some funny business and it made sense to inflate the Kulu price due to sell on fees etc

Was a short cameo so best not to get too excited but nice confidence on the ball and considering the main criticism seems to be he can be a bit loose with his passing sometimes looked very tidy. match fit and able to immediately contribute

WHU - Rice is a big player for them , Defensively and driving forward . Im going to risk criticism here and go boldly with a comparison . He could be our Declan Rice. It’s a hope more than observation, he did show good football signs that look promising.

As certain as Man U is going for Rice in the summer (and he will definitely strengthen man u’s yawning weakness), we should properly bid and challenge Man U for him.

Regardless of whether we get him, as a statement of intent and like what FP said post mortem - we have to be at the races for top talent.

Bentacur + one first xi Cm + the 3 we have of winks skipp and peh = a solid pack of cm (tho still far behind in comparison to say Chelsea’s Kante Jorginho Kovacic Mount Saul Barkley Loftus-Cheek and Connor Gallagher to return)

Love that his first touch was snuffing out danger on the edge of the box.

Just seemed to be everywhere from the moment he got on the pitch.

Most impressed I've been with a new Spurs signing on debut since... well I can't even remember.
Reguilon had a good one against Chelsea in the cup I think.

Think it was more that Bentancur's price might have been kept down since there was a sell on percentage owed to Boca Juniors. Paratici greasing the wheels.
