I'm not overly bothered if we sell Aurier, but I can't see us signing 2 new RBs, which is what we would need. Yes, Tanganga can play there if necessary but if we want to do well we need two dedicated full-backs on both sides.
That’s never going to happen under Jose; it’s simply not the way he builds his squads. Loves a versatile full back who can cover both sides, or a centre back who can fill in at full back. Means he doesn’t have to rotate to keep everyone happy.

Personally would give Aurier a contract extension as only has 2 years left but I also believe that Jose wants a right footed Davies that he trusts and Aurier is not that

Sell Aurier
Tanganga can be our defensive RB
Davies our defensive LB
Sessegnon our attacking LB

Sign an attacking RB
We then have all the tools

This is a generic shout, but Atal would be perfect. Without his injuries, I’d have 0 worries, that’s how high I rate him.

I think there needs to be an acceptance that Tanganga will be back up right back otherwise everyone will feel like we’ve been left short in that position.

If Jose continues with a lop sided approach then it works fine. Tanganga has shown more than capable and it gives him more potential game time. I think the Castagne link makes the most sense, he can play attacking right back with Davies left or attacking left back with Tanganga right.

To repeat others I really don’t think he wants to have to keep players happy by tinkering with team, in this way Tanganga and Sess can play Europa and they’d be more than happy with that. Only defenders he’d need to keep happy would be Sanchez and Dier who’d likely rotate a little. Maybe we’ll sign Kim but wouldn’t surprise me if end up with:

LB - Davies, Castagne, Sessegnon
RB - Castagne, Tanganga
CB - Alderweireld, Sanchez, Dier, Tanganga

He’s mentioned injuries a lot, I don’t see him wanting a squad with 2 players every position I think he just wants better luck injury wise with a concise squad.

Don't disagree with you, that could be how we line up next season. But that's terribly uninspiring.

I think it’s more about the defensive unit. No matter what people want we’re not going to have two full backs galloping up wings. People are unsure about him but I like Sanchez and with King coaching I think he’ll develop. Him and Toby could potentially become a very strong combo. Castagne I have to assume will be better than Aurier. Davies is really boring but he’s also pretty reliable and a good defender. Tanganga too has so much potential.

If you combine it with a DM like Hojbjerg you’ve got the chance to be a unit that rarely concedes big chances. It’s then on the attacking 4 or 5 to do their thing, which at home I saw signs of, away not so much.

That quote is ridiculously low, even for Aurier. He's still got 2 years on his contract and is only 27. I feel like we'll be able to get someone to pay €20m for him.

He's also just had a fairly good season of 2G and 7A across the Premier League and the Champions League. I think he'll have plenty of suitors both domestically and abroad.
€20m would be 80% of what we paid for him when he was 25 and widely considered to be better than he has since proven to be. Not preposterous, but probably quite optimistic. I think we'd be more likely to get circa €20m if a club is desperate for a RB near deadline day than now.
A lot of people seem to expect us to make a profit on a player who didn't live up to expectations and then replace him with a younger, better player for less money.

not to mention Dier finally accepting and owning that he’s a center half and looking much much better. Mourinho did well to sort the defense but with Aurier’s regular lapses and Davies physical limitations, it at times still wasn’t enough. It will he figured out this summer + PEH providing a shield will be welcomed

A Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Valencia defence of Jose’s conceded 28 goals all season in PL. I’m certain we’re going to be much improved defensively next season. As long as we bring in Hojbjerg it’s not something I’m worried about at all, even less so now Ledley is helping out.

If Aurier, Foyth, and KWP go, I think two new RBs are needed this season. Given our injury record, and the amount of fixtures we'll be playing next year, we cannot spread ourselves thin once again. Tanganga will probably still be needed to make a few appearances at RB when one of our new RBs pick up an injury.

RB First choice player [Dumfries / Celik / Castagne]
RB Understudy [Aarons]
CB Alderweireld
CB Dier
CB Sanchez
CB Tanganga
LB Davies
LB Sessegnon
LB Cirkin

Sorted. We'd basically be netting zero spend by offloading those players.

Would love Dumfries. Him and Bergwijn used to play on the right together for PSV too...

I agree it could be difficult but the market has also inflated quite a bit since summer 2017. I think he has also salvaged his reputation somewhat after last season. There will be competition for his signature too, with AS Monaco reportedly another suitor.

Daily Mail are reporting we value Aurier at £22m. Levy has proven he knows how to juice value out of our players. I’d actually be pretty suprised if he can’t find a way to get at least €20m for him.

For some reason I was thinking we only bought him 2 years ago. If multiple teams enquire that will certainly help drive up the price :)
I would love it if Levy managed to upgrade him and make a profit.

We won't market him as a flop, we'll point to him being our first choice right back and look to the stats that say he's the second most productive right back in the Premier League.

Well, taken for granted we had 8 games since the restart, and Jose hasn’t brought Sess on in any of them (despite having 5 subs), I’d be surprised if he’s considered a viable option for LB at this stage.

They are working hard with him to build up his defensive abilities. I think he will get plenty of games there next season

I think it’s too good to be true. But if he is going to Milan I’d like to swap him for one of their decent players.

Would have to be a RB but I don’t fancy any of Milan’s RB choices tbh. I’d swap + cash for Rafael Leao
