so you’ve come to that conclusion after seeing him play what about 10x for us really? (Smacks head on table)

This is a guy who was tearing it up for PSG in the Champions League and domestically, is a proven international. He has pace, power, good positioning, decent passing, heading. Yes he dives in a bit and need to learn how to take a throw-in but all the ingredients are there. He can’t speak English so is still learning that and it’s a new league and a new team he’s going to take a season or so to get up to speed. Also for a RB, 25 is still fairly young. I’m certain he will keep improving under Poch.

You guys writing him offff wayyy too soon.
Not sure everyone is writing him off tbh, just noting that he hasn't performed that well, calling a spade a spade (not directly saying sell him), which is fair analysis, he has looked shaky, doesn't necessarily mean everyone wants him sold, he must up his game, and soon excuses like he doesn't speak English (which is untrue), won't cut it. Every Spurs supporter wants him to succeed and live up to his potential, I am hopeful Poch will work his magic again, he has potential, his shown flashes.
In regards to him tearing it up, lets get the facts straight he was in and out of the PSG team, Meunier was ahead of him at times, and for the more important matches such as Barcelona he played. Also in the Champions league what has he done of note to tear it up? Tearing it up his a bold statement, if so why did PSG sell him?
The french league is also hard to compare to English league, as the standard is a lot lower, and in terms of international Ivory Coast is not a hard team to play for, even Max Gradel gets a game for them.

Happy to see him given time and thought he was a great signing when he joined but that doesn't mean he can't be criticised.

He is an international and cost a lot of money. Not that these automatically make him a great player from the get go, and he has put in some good performances.

That said, it's not that he's been a bit rubbish at times. When he's bad, he's really BAD. Not sure if he's simply trying too hard, but right now Trippier is the safer option and Aurier gets into countless dangerous positions to cross but is absolutely useless 90% of the time. That doesn't come from being in a new country/league etc. For 20m+ I'd expect someone to cross the ball properly when unchallenged. At least to a higher degree than he does currently.

Hopefully Poch can sort his rashness out and we can get the RB that destroyed arsenal for PSG.

First season syndrome hopefully and with a bit of time and coaching am sure he will come on. The foul throws were an absolute joke though that is the most basic thing to get right.

I thought he was unlucky there. The amount of foul throws that aren't punished are very high. Probably should have done them properly after he got caught first time but he isn't the only one who does it.

He tends to go out of position too often and his crosses is also very often misplaced and placed very low. I'll continue to give him the benefit of the doubt til the end of the season

Call me old fashioned but if my right back messes up a few throws fails to deliver some good crosses and misses a scoring chance but then puts in a match saving tackle on their striker on our six yard line I'm satisfied.

In all fairness City just spent £50m on a full back who couldn't cross to a team mate if they were the only two players on the pitch.

To be fair, he has 5 assists in the PL do far this season which isn't bad. More than a lot of creative midfielders. Sure Walker was up at the top for assists last season too.

I admit I'd be disappointed in Aurier if his brain farted like Walker's did to gift Wigan their goal last week.

Aurier's brain fart could have virtually knocked us out of the Champions League already, so pointing out individual instances to support your case doesn't really stand up.

The problem is we rely so much on our fullbacks for attacking width, and when they don’t win their individual battles—meaning they are not able to pin back the opposing team’s fullback—we suffer as a team.

Yesterday we especially struggled as Lamela, eriksen, dele all like to tuck in. If we’re not getting end product from that area in a game like yesterday where we’re facing 11 behind the ball, I think it becomes necessary to start Son, who at least seems a bit more willing to stay tighter to the touch line and take on that man.

I'm not making a case I'm refuting other peoples case, I didn't bring Walker up.
That said his tackle stopped a scoring chance and they missed the penalty so you could argue he did right.

For the top scoring team in the league by some distance. He has the 6 assists in 40 appearances this season playing for man city running away with the title. Trippier has 6 assists in 27 appearances, playing for us.

You can't compare Walker's game to Trippier's, Walker plays as a inverted full back whilst the winger Sterling/B Silva hug the touchline so he doesn't bomb down the wing and get to the byline as much as he id for Spurs - less chance of getting assists. The two are non-comparable.

If he had positional sense he wouldn’t need to make so many rash tackles.

Walker was like a broken sat nav for the majority of his spurs career until Poch got hold of him.

Give the full back whisperer a chance, Aurier has the raw ingredients for Poch to work with.
