If we are going for top 3 or higher we really need a couple of attacking players to explode into form like Alli and Dembele did in the first half of the season.

If Son and Erksen bang in 10 goals plus between them from now to May we'll be cooking on gas.
In any season it is hugely unlikely that all the flair players of any team will find form and fitness at the same time. What we do need is, as you rightly say, a couple of in form players at any one time. Right now Lamela has gone off form, Kane perhaps looks a little jaded so it is great to see some green shoots of form from Eriksen and see Son starting to get back to his early season form. This not only gives us momentum but shifts the focus from others whilst they get back to form. Eriksen and Son are both prolific goalscorers when in form. Add a return to form from some of the others and we are well set to keep pressing for a top three spot

However, Son, who signed for Spurs in a £22million deal from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, was concerned those tactics would hinder his progress when he left Hamburg in 2013.

Instead, he opted to sign for rivals Leverkusen, snubbing the chance to play under Klopp.

"I wanted to stay in the Bundesliga and Leverkusen and Dortmund wanted me," the 23-year-old said.

"Both teams play in the Champions League but I thought Dortmund would use rotation more than Leverkusen.

"That's why I chose Leverkusen over Dortmund. It's really important to play regularly in my age."

Son has already proved a massive hit at White Hart Lane, with three goals in four appearances in all competitions.

The South Korea international could line up against the man who once wanted to sign him as Spurs host Liverpool in their next Premier League outing on October 17.

Klopp is expected to be in the away dugout to take charge of his first Liverpool game.

A player that Klopp wanted for dortmund in their 2013 team must be some player. Improves players around him. Huge marketing value (big star in South Korea). One of the best buys in recent history

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino wants Son Heung-Min to convince him not to sign another striker this January window

Mauricio Pochettino hopes Son Heung-Min can hit top form to stop Tottenham signing another striker this month.

South Korea forward Son's goal in Wednesday's 2-0 FA Cup victory at Leicester was just his third goal in 21 appearances since his £22million summer switch from Bayer Leverkusen.

The 23-year-old has been challenged to start living up to his billing as Spurs' third most expensive signing, with Pochettino reluctant to recruit a forward unless he finds someone boasting 'the right profile'.

'It was important for him to score against Leicester,' said Pochettino of Son. 'We want him to fight for a place in the starting 11.'

Son could come into the equation for Saturday's Premier League trip to Crystal Palace, as Spurs aim to cope with the Selhurst Park side's physical and pacy threats.

Spurs continue to be linked to a string of strikers, with Barcelona's Sandro Ramirez rumoured to be among their targets.

Pochettino insists the White Hart Lane club intend to be hugely discerning in their transfer business, with England striker Harry Kane in top form and hopes high that Son can find his feet.

'I don't know why we would have maybe more opportunity to win the league if we added another striker,' said Pochettino.

'I think that we have enough quality already. If we started the season happy with the squad we have, why now do we have to add new players?

'If we find the right profile and we are sure that it would help us improve the squad, we'd sign someone, but we are very happy with the squad we have.'

Pochettino has warned his Tottenham players to keep their wits about them against Alan Pardew's wily Palace side, with Spurs' Argentinian boss wary of the home threat this weekend.

'It's a very good challenge for us to try to win at Crystal Palace, it would be a very good position for us if we win the game,'
said Pochettino.

'The players and the squad are very focused, to be ready, to prepare and to compete. We're expecting a very tough game because it's not an easy place. We must arrive in a very focused condition, to ensure we can fight for the three points.'

I like Son, think he will be awesome for us long-term.

Would like to see him starting more games to consistently find his groove, reckon next season after being fulling integrated and settled he'll really kick on.

Would like to see him left out of the 18 for Winks in the next few weeks. Needs a massive kick up the backside. If that's the best player the whole of Asia can offer :wideyed:!

Not one for getting at a player after a defeat, but.....................

Good grief his game is in pieces, can't make a simple pass, runs around like a headless chicken, needs some serious talking to on the training ground

He just needs time. We usually have a problem brining in players overseas for good money and getting them to settle. He's got a good attitude, works hard, and comes out with some very good things here and there. Once he puts all the pieces together he'll be a good player for us.

Not been too good this season and he is wildly out of form at the moment. He'll be much, much better next season with a year under his belt. He's a class player with a great attitude. Just adapting to Poch's system and a new league right now.

Good start to his career with us but since his injury he has been poor. Sure he will improve next season

Really not sure what's going on with him. He's gotten worse as the seasons gone on. Thought he started well for us and looked a real player but recently he's just offered nothing.

His touch is all over the place and his dribbling's been really poor. He doesn't keep the ball close enough to his body. It's so erratic.

There's definitely a good player in there but i'd expected a bit more from him so far.

Looks like a kid running with the ball, always a poor first touch and technique looks bad. Flashes of brilliance but been dissapointed with his overall game so far for Spurs.

Looks very much like lamela in his first year, clearly a good player in there but really seems to struggle with the pace and physicality of the game. He's got plenty to offer in certain matches but tonight was just about the worst possible game for him to come into.

Just hasn't been the same since his injury. Looks erratic, doesn't really dribble with any conviction, has a poor first touch, has poor passing from time to time and doesn't look like a goal threat anymore. Hopefully he'll turn it around, he's still young and there's a very good player in there.

Frustratingly, a couple of weeks back, there was like 2-3 games in which he went on good runs and had multiple opportunities to shoot but kept looking to beat another man. Strange considering he has a very good shot from outside the box and was in prime position just outside it in all those occasions. Once he was inside the box as well.

If he'd just let fly and peppered the goal on those occasions he could easily have an extra goal or 2 with his confidence up.

The glimpses of talent are there, he was fantastic at Bayern Leverkusen too for a consistent bases. Not denying that he has been poor this season though, needs time and support.
