Brilliant servant and exceptional player, but far too nice and accommodating to be a captain.

I hope the scouting department are busy looking for his replacement, as all good things must come to an end and that time is fast approaching.

He’s such a cash cow for the club (and been such a brilliant player), I can’t see Levy sanctioning any deal.

To add, I still think he’s amazing, but not in this system.

Just in case people are a little myopic after todays match: 15 goals 9 assists- this season, this system.
Oh yea sonny is fantastic just a shame Richy isn’t fit as we could do with moving Sonny back out to LW for a bit and having a more physical presence such as Richy up top especially against teams who set-up like Newcastle did.

Are you implying that sacking our manager midway through a rebuild, replacing our top scorer with Solanke, and hammering a 22-year-old defender for his one poor performance of the season isn't the right response to today's performance? Everyone else on SC disagrees, so you must be wrong, sorry.:ROFLMAO:

Out of everyone I think you could forgive Son for just plain being a bit knackered at this point. Games for us + The Asian Cup all the way to the final + flying back for even more Internationals is a lot of not just matches but also air miles to have put on this season. If Richy wasn't injured I think he'd probably be getting a bit more rest time than he is.

Honestly I'm not doubting his quality but him up front isn't a problem today it's been said for weeks. Let's give him the support in a proper striker he needs

He's anonymous as a central striker and we've all known this for years. He could be an effective false 9, but that's not what Ange wants. So in this system, he should be the left sided attacker and we should stop messing with that for a while.

We definitely need to sign a couple of centre forwards if we're persisting with this system. Which we will be. We have options left and right for the front 3. But the central role needs much, much more.

And taking a fucking shot every now and again might yield dividends. As it did for vdv last week.

I've read a couple of rumours that the club are focussing more on a #9 this coming window and that Son is more likely to be moved back to LWF. I'd be interested to see whether or not Son goes back out there when Richarlison returns to full fitness.

Pretty sure everyone could see in pre season he was struggling out wide. And when Kane left and we couldn’t score he was champed in for the striker roll. Now that’s gone to pot. I think he’s almost done tbf. Maybe out wide he can cut in and shoot more? Manager needs to be more flexible as teams know exactly how we play. Like all the time. No change. It’s pretty nieve really from Ange.

He's got 15 goals and 9 assists in the league this season. Only bettered by Haaland, Salah, Watkins and Palmer. More than Saka, Foden, Gordon, Bowen, Fernandes and Havertz despite starting less than all of them (and being on the pitch less than all bar Havertz). If he's almost done then he's covering for it well.

Players just dont fall off a cliff, its a gradual decline.

I think Sonny is beginning that process, but he's still got plenty left him in for a few seasons yet.

He's been outstanding, and I expect him to be part of the squad for the next few seasons, and probably starting most games next season.
