When you see the way Son curled in that goal today it makes you wonder why he isn’t our free kick taker . He can’t do worse than Kane.

He is just pure class. He is Spurs. Also love the loyalty he has shown, I'm sure he could have got himself a move had he wanted with all that he has to offer.

what a player. we are so lucky to have him - he can bang in 20+ goals a year and is still willing to play second fiddle to Kane.

haha, a couple of weeks ago he needed dropping because, what was it? He was tired or doesn't contribute much?

This is what i meant earlier by SC is full of absolutes. There's no quarter given, everything is a full on and all in. Over the top. A while ago it was Doherty is the worst player to ever play for Spurs, should never pull on the shirt again. Now it's "we miss him". There's never a common sense middle ground you're only ever a couple of games away from being a legend to being a useless **** :playful:

You're not wrong! Some takes on here are outright laughable (hence numerous funny ratings)

Then again. There's members who are reasoned in their approach, explain their reasoning and, when necessary, acknowledge they were wide of the mark, and were happy to be proven wrong.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable for people to have suggested at the time that Son looked like he needed a rest. His touch was poor, he was taking too many of them and generally wasn’t playing well.

But since then he’s been prolific.

There’s no need to lambast people for pointing out that he looked like he was tired and out of form. A perfectly reasonable observation at the time.

Delighted to see he’s found some form, just when it’s needed.

It's more likely that the SC community has very high standards. They expect every player to live up to the very selective memories they have of their own careers on the pitch. (or some online game).

Except, as we've seen, he didn't need a rest did he? His performances were no worse than anyone else was putting in and better than some. Plus he was still popping up with the odd goal whilst on the end of this. But honestly, it was more the 'contributes nothing' stuff that my post was aimed at. (although we got some ''he needs a rest he contributes nothing" which IS bollocks)

There's a huge difference between saying he's off his game, off form, playing badly or whatever and some of the utterly ridiculous comments he was subjected to on here by some in the match thread.

As soon as Son has a poor game you can guarantee someone will write he looks tired and needs a rest.

Always have images of him being tucked up in bed lol.

I think there’s a middle ground. There are times when we seem to run Son and Kane into the ground. There were a few games where Sonny was looking leggy, but still popping up with goals or assists. He’s gonna do that whatever, because he’s class.

I think it’s clear we need more cover and competition at the top end of the pitch. For whatever reason, Conte doesn’t seem to rate Bergwijn, so move him on and get someone in that can supplement and rotate with our stars.

Liverpool do it with Salah, Mane, Firmino and Jota. Now they have Diaz too.

Kulusevski had been poor against Brighton and Brentford, but putting him on the bench just gave him that little bit of a push this weekend I think.
