Im 33, and far too old for a name on the back of a Spurs shirt, the last one I had was Van der Vaart, but I might just get Son on it for next season.

Or on my two Sons jerseys

Isn't his dad the guy who trained Sonny to be so good with both feet? I think his dad should share his methods because it is so rare to see a genuine world class player equally good on either foot. Remember my grandad saying Bobby Charlton was as good shooting with his left foot from long distance as his right.
Not sure if it's still available but watch Sonsational on Amazon if it is. Features his dad and shows just how strict he was in his coaching. Very good and interesting documentary.

A nice bit about Sonny from Hwang Hee-Chan on the beeb...

Hwang hopes Son can inspire his own game

After Son Heung-min became the first Asian player to win the Premier League Golden Boot, his South Korea teammate Hwang Hee-chan says hr hopes he can be inspired to better performances.

Hwang has impressed fleetingly since his arrival at Wolves last summer, but straggled for consistency. He is looking at Son for inspiration.

"I am proud of the way he represents the country, when there are so few Asian players (in the Premier League)," Hwang said.

"Whenever I see him, it motivates me to play as well as he does. And I would love to keep getting better and challenge his record.

"I think a lot of football players see Heung-min as their role model, and I respect him a great deal as a fellow athlete.

"Since we play in the same league, I congratulate him whenever he scores, but at the same time, I want to play better myself. I don't want to just say, 'He's great,' and stop there."

What impresses me most about Son is his work ethic. He wasn't born 2-footed and the long-shots from his left peg started to come regularly this and last season. His game has improved leaps and bounds over his time with us. This goes to explain why he is such a likeable, humble person; he knows what it takes to get to this level in the game.

I still remember when he failed to set the world alight when he first joined (i only knew that he considered leaving in the aftermath). In contrast, we have Dele..who had everything in his locker in those first 2 seasons.

Hare and Tortoise personified.

Finally getting the recognition he deserves, and has deserved for a few seasons now. Signed a new deal when we were a shambles. He's true spurs. That he's so likeable and humble also shows you don't have to be a **** to be ambitious, driven and successful. He's a wonderful role model for kids.

In 30 years people will be telling their grandkids how lucky they were to be able to see him play live.

Is anyone a tiny bit concerned if mane leaves Liverpool, they will go for Son?
They can try but theY would have s certain Senor Levy to deal with, and that my friends is a sure deterrent

In a recent podcast, Callum Wilson and Michail Antonio said that Son has been their player of the year by far. Antonio especially had a lot of praise for him and said he's been the best player in the league for the past couple of years. Both had nothing but praise for him, which was nice to hear.

This exactly. Club legend on the level of Gazza, Glenda, Waddle or Harry. The reality is he just gets better every year. Golden Boot in a season when we really struggled at points. It's going to break our hearts when he goes or is deemed surplus. Probably more than HK in many ways. Genuinely one of our own.

That was really cool. I knew players rated him highly, but that's high praise indeed.

Watched a YouTube thingy last night of Sonny arriving home in South Korea. The scenes at the airport welcoming him home were amazing. He really is a superstar in his home country. Should be great scenes when we tour their in pre-season.
