Disagree. If Lucas was faster over the 1st 5 yards he'd be taking players on with ease. He has skill but not quick enough in tight areas to make it count.

Watch him score a double against Utd, he is very good at taking advantage of space as once he is up to speed he is rapid.

Lucas has been taking players on with ease while he's been playing centrally. It's hard to tell sometimes though because he's like a dog chasing a balloon half the time.

I do hope Bergiwjn doesn't leave this summer. He's had a hard last 4-5 months, but whoever is manager next season should be able to help him rediscover some form.

I generally think players should get 2-3 years if they're not obviously out of their depth. In his first half season he scored 3 league goals and looked to be a potential goal threat.

But this season has been very disappointing on that front. There is ability there and I hope he gets a chance next season.

If we keep him, fine if the manager has plans for him.

If we sell him for a decent fee, fine too, he can be replaced, probably even by a HG player.

It is one of the players where I just struggle to have a clear opinion (yet).

I do wonder what's happening with him, I feel like there's just something in his game or application that Jose really doesn't like. I would rather have him on the bench than Dele personally as I think he's more of a player who could potentially make an impact from the bench.

He hasn’t started since the end of Feb and hasn’t been in the squad since villa. I’m not gonna argue with his g/a numbers because it isn’t enough. But on the other hand he’s made one appearance since the end of Feb and we can’t bash him when the guy isn’t even in the squad most of the time anymore. We can say he’s rightfully been dropped and we don’t see training, but there’s just no consistency with Jose anymore, and that hurts young players especially. I’m still a believer and do think he has the talent to flourish under someone who’ll be consistent with him and allow him to play his game more.

He's not good enough for us. Still young but so inconsistent, I just can't see him being top draw. A player like him needs some undoubted assets in his locker, like pace, finishing, dribbling, passing. He is ok with all but does not stand out in any areas.

We have lamela, dele, bergwijn, lucas, Bale. All are unplayable on their day, but that day only comes around 2 or 3 times a season. It's just not good enough.

Pick the best 2 and replace the other 3 with some young hungry real talent. No, not Jack Clarke.

This. Absolutely this. Somehow though, that’ll be on Jose.

Ideally, all five should go. However, if I had to chose two to keep, it’d be Lamela and probably Lucas. It’s maybe the right time for both to leave though, with age/contract or able to raise funds etc.

None of them are nearly consistent enough, you’re totally right. Dele is as useless to us now as Jack Clarke, which is sad, he used to be my favourite player of all before he got his big contract.

I thought they showed him buzzing around quite a bit in the training video today, hopefully building up his confidence for next season with some appearances in the final weeks.

Confidence is all he needs to build on now, once that's there we can see what technical things he needs to work on. Small steps will make a big difference with Stevie.

I got the feeling with Stevie that not only was Jose not happy that he squandered those chances against Liverpool but it seemed that Bergwijn was affected by the fallout of that game quite a lot including deleting his instagram. Jose has spoken in the pass about not liking when players feel sad after a loss and perhaps wasn't thrilled with Bergwijns reaction to the situation.

Anyway that's all conjecture, I think there's a good player in there somewhere and I think he'll have learnt a lot from this season, just gotta pump his confidence up because he's probably the ideal stature of playing to be in and around the likes of Son/Bale next season. I'd like to see him given more chances playing from the left next season.

Did he not receive racist abuse on Instagram too? I'm sure there were reports of this if I'm not mistaken.

Yes in an ideal world we should be able to rotate Sonny and him while having Bale and another wide forward rotating throughout the season. Sonny is always ran into the ground and while I think he's an amazing player, I'd rather have him fit and fresh for the business end of the season and have 3 to 4 wide players combining for an overall great season. I hope Stevie can take a leap next season and add some more goals/assists.

possibly, I know he got a lot of shit for it though I can’t remember if it was racial, you’d assume so unfortunately but it did seem to affect him more than others in the sense that he deleted his social media.
