Low risk, but I’ve never been massively impressed in any game I’ve seen him play. Has pace, but gets caught offside a lot. Looks good on the ball, but finishing technique is not precise enough. Looks like game should score a hatful but ends up scoring more than you thought but less than you expected.

I’m probably a bit put out that it means less chances for our young players, but who knows, maybe he’ll do the job Ange wants and if so, that’s all that we can ask of him

Would I be looking at him based on what I've already seen of him? Absolutely not.

As I said a couple of weeks back though there is no point in looking at how players have played elsewhere as too much of an indicator as to how he will play under Ange. Nine times out of ten he is going to be asking them to play in a completely different way to how they've played before and he will be looking for players that have individual skill sets to mould into his philosophy. If we were looking at how they've played in different systems and under different managers Porro for example would have been on the first plane out of London the day Ange joined. He's now one of the best right backs in Europe(in Ange's system). I'm actually intrigued to see how he uses him tbh.

Personally I have been pleasantly surprised by Richy's hold up play. And his layoffs and assists. And goals. A different player since returning from his injury. Warner is imo not as good, but my Chelsea supporting kids always liked him. Fingers crossed if this happens, Timo does the business for us. I do agree I'd far rather see him coming off the bench than Gil. And I think he's better than Johnson.
I genuinely don't think he gets the better of his marking centre back more than once a game, he's weak always gets outmuscled and ends up on the floor and his lay offs are seldom effective.
He wins the majority of heading duals I'll grant you but I genuinely think centre forward is not the role for him.

Stylistically - Werner reminds me more of Kyogo at Celtic - using pace and quickness more than size to get goal scoring opportunities.

I know, however he will come on before Gil even at LW. Our Richy will shift left and he will go up top.

I am just saying he will be the first attacking sub ahead of what we have now.
If Richy or Werner are played ahead of Solomon when fit on on the LW then Solomon needs to be sold in summer.

Scouts before he signed for Chelsea wanted him at the club. He was very highly regarded, one of our staff told us that “Chelsea wasted his talent and didn’t use him correctly and his confidence was shot! Get him in an our team and confident and a class player.”

Solomon's match fitness could be an issue for the remainder of the season - mostly as he regains confidence in he knee to make the kind of quick movements and cuts he was making pre-injury.

Could say the same for Bentancur tho as he was constantly turning and twisting under pressure in the middle and he was out for longer.

Guys at the end of the day, a loan deal, for a player who is still absolutely rapid and puts a shift it up front fits us perfectly. He will always work hard, if he fines his goal scoring form from the past we keep him if not we send him back. Only thing that’s worrying is his injuries, but who knows. At the end of the day he’s another striker option which we need right now. Still in his prime years, hints of VdV in this signing.

A little different in the attacking end - where the moves tend to be more explosive - i.e. twist with a burst of pace to beat a man.

I am just saying, I would not read too much into Solomon's long-term future based on his minutes this season.

Just depth cover while Son is away and Johnson still developing. I don’t see us exercising a buy option in the summer.

Lol...how do you know that!? Hasnt kicked a ball for us yet.

And more likely because of Veliz being out not Son missing a few games.

Think he might surprise a few.

I don’t know anything. Just giving my opinion like everyone else in this thread.

But my opinion is based on the fact he is 27 yr old who has already struggled to make an impact in the prem, and subsequently is struggling for form in the Bundesliga. Doesn’t really fit with our approach of signing young hungry talent players with huge potential to improve.

Seems more short term cover than any long term planning involved.
