Exactly my thoughts. I'd rather we rode Toby and Verts all the way to a comfy top 5 (possible top 4) finish myself. Let assnal deal with the injury bug ta very much.

He'd be OK though because he is the tits. The shit. The ever-luvvin' Daddy.

Because I want to see how his form translates to other partnerships, if it will continue to be of a high standard and if he is able to adapt quickly.

Is this for your own personal musing or for the benefit of the club?

I fail to see how breaking up our best centre back partnership in years during the best form we've been in for years is beneficial?
Wimmer gets some game time for a start and another partnership can start to develop. It's better to do that against some weaker teams than a change being forced by injury and Wimmer then being thrown into a London derby or some other tough side.

I can't think of any successful side that's employed this strategy

Been really impressed with Toby, can now see why the south coast big club were pissed when we nicked him from under their noses

Too good for them, they were always a shop window, nothing more, and should've accepted that with good grace.

Though I'd be pissed if I were them as well.

Not in the league, they stuck with Ferdinand and Vidic throughout until they aged
Those two have had a fair bit of injuries so there would have been chances to rotate, there have also been other man utd sides but anyway we are not even playing Wimmer in cup games, he's played once in the Europa and once in the league cup. He might get some FA cup games but unless there is an injury it seems obvious he wont play in the Europa cup.

Yeah but as you said they were only rotated if there was an injury. I think Wimmer will play in the FA Cup, but to use your example of United, they didn't rotate in the league or in Europe unless they have to and now we're doing the same.

I said there would have been chances to rotate because of injuries not that they rotated only when there was an injury, I didn't even specify which Man Utd side, they've been successful for 20 plus years. As far as Wimmer is concerned we have to use him more than a few FA cup games, I realise it's a fine balance but you can't expect to keep him if he isn't going to make double figure of appearances for the club

He's also gonna have the next batch of youth CB's challenging him for game time in those cups soon enough (perhaps next season)
